Great structure for online gaming, XBL is much easier to use and navigate than the PSN.
If you're worried about the three red lights, Microsoft are now very efficient at sorting this problem.
Exclusive titles like Fable 2, Gears of War franchise, Mass Effect, Halo 3, and Forza if you're into your driving games.
Much cheaper.
Will run majority of multi platform games with a better frame rate than the PS3.
A far larger selection of games at the moment.
PS3;
Better more reliable machine, the technology in it is more powerful than the 360, also it's downfall at the moment because I think companies struggle to code for it.
An amazing media centre, Blu-ray, PlayTV, Home etc.
Exclusive titles like Metal Gear Solid 4, Little Big Planet, Resistance, Killzone and Gran Turismo 5.
Quieter than the 360!
Personally I would go for the 360, it's the cheaper option (thus possibly get more games with it?) and as a games machine it surpasses the PS3, the online set up is just much better laid out. I'm not saying the PS3 is a bad machine at all, it's just too early on at the moment and I've no idea what Sony are playing at, they have released about 3 different variations of the console in about 3 months or something daft lol.
Mass Effect's on the PC as well, not exclusive then is it? :P
As is gears, and fable 2 will be. This is his choice between a 360 and PS3 though isn't it :P

The PS3 has way better graphics + it has LBP.
But Xbox Live it fun and there are alot more good games out for the Xbox then the PS3

Well depends on what you really want. Xbox has a more internet based gaming structure whereas ps3 is more of a single player gaming structure. Ps3 and xbox have almost all the same games, and they both have online playing. The pros of xbox would probably be the gametag system, game points and the xbox live marketplace. The cons are that you have to pay for everything. Where as in ps3 internet is free, online playing is free and you can add, chat etc. I personally perfer my ps3 over my xbox, i like a shitload of games for the ps3 and some really good ones are coming out i.e. resistance 2
Well, this is just my biased opinion, because I don't have a PS3. A lot of Xbox 360 exclusive games bring a challenge. For an instance, you can play Rock Band on the PS3, but you can't play Guitar Hero. Guitar Hero is MUCH harder than RB. In my opinion, through the fire and flames - hard mode is harder than most of the Rock Band songs.
Then, there's Halo 3 =) Also, theres COD4, not sure if that's for the PS3 or not.
But yeah, you can play both of those online with friends and other people. And when you get bored of that, you can always jump to Legendary mode on Campaign of Halo 3 <3
