Ofcourse let's forget the fact that it will remove your warranty... no thanks.
If you make any mods that are noticable yes. For me im just replacing the fans for better ones/Changing LED's and puttin an internal SATA drive in witch is completly reversable/
Except for the fact that it has been opened, once you open it the warranty goes, and yes, they can see that.
Not if you actually doit properly normally they tell if its been opened by the locks on the back if the tabs are broken it voids the warrenty. If you unlock it using somone #9 bolts and modded cd case parts then it doesnt break anything :)
I've heard people claim that, i've also heard that after they had some trouble Microsoft returned their Xbox 360 without repairing it.
Had a hard xbox that ended up having faulty fans replaced them myself for better ones. Then the mainboard fried changed the orig fan back and removed the mod chip they fixed it no problem and sent me back a brand new one a week later. It all depends on how you go about doing it and if you make any changes that arnt easy to change back.
