XBox or GameCube ??

If your into RPG type games then Gamecube is your best bet. FF:CC and Tales of Symphonia are pretty good on the gamecube. I, myself, have a gamecube and I think the graphics are excellent. Gamecube is also silent unless its loading a level or whatever, unlike the Xbox fans lol...

I have all the Zeldas on the Gamecube (including the special edition disk with the retro zeldas) and they are as good as the originals, or even better in my opinion. Metroid prime is a quality game with a pretty good storyline. Metroid Prime 2:echoes is also a very good game, if you decide to go for the Gamecube.

Also other games such as Mario and Resident evil are good buys and they are exclusive to Gamecube :)

Also Xbox doesnt have hardly any RPG type games..

I'd have to agree with Dark Bahamut on this one, well partly. Xbox seems geared toward the action/aventure, FPS fans....and GC seems to steer towards the RPG fans, and also those looking to seek reruge from the world in a few mindless hours of enjoyment provided by Mario....HOWEVER, after finally having a full day to test the GC...here's a few things that I've found out:

1)the graphics are good...they seem to be a lot smoother than the PS2, but they pale in comparison to the graphics of Xbox, that thing is a monster.

2)Maybe the one we got was deffective or something, but it seemed to scan and read awefully loud...as if the disc was scratched or something. That was one of the first things I noticed that bothered me.

3)I know I've said this before but it's the biggest complaint with gamecube that I have....the games are made for kids...I know not all the games are kid games, Spider-Man, Baten Kaitos, The Resident Evil series...some very good titles that aren't on the adolescent side. But I just feel weird playing games that don't take more than 2 brain cells to master... (oh and FF:CC sucked ass!! wtf was up with that stupid bucket thing >.< )

lol, or get a really good, close friend, and have him buy the more expensive of the two consoles (if he doesnt already have one) so then u can get the cheaper one, and play those games, and when u feel like playing on the other console, you go and give ur buddy a visit ^_^

Honestly if you ask me. Get the gamecube. Xbox may have better graphics but all of it's games are sports or racing or fighting. Whereas on GC you can Get Baten Kaitos and Tales of Symphonia, as well as a couple other nice RPGs Namco is going to be putting onto the GC relatively soon.

id say xbox even if gamecube has rpgs the xbox has xboxlive wich rocks with halo2 and ghostrecon 2

when suggesting things to ppl, try and make sure it goes with HIS personal preferences, not yours :S plus Silveron doesnt have XBox Live, because it's service isnt offered where he lives

Xbox all the way man, gamecube is so going downhill, there have been no anticipated games for it. For ps2 there has been the gta series, for xbox there has been the halo series. For Xbox you have star wars: knights of the old republic 1 and 2 to play through, DOOM3 soon (tho you prob have this for PC) Fable is a great (but short) rpg. Morrowind, which is prob the best rpg ive played in my life for freedom, and ability to do whatever you want to. You have the splinter cell series too. You really want to stick with Xbox or the PS2 because I really think getting the gamecube will not be a decent investment, as it will just die out like the dreamcast most likely.

EDIT: plus most games for the gamecube are aimed for like 11 year olds, the games are aimed for a very young audience.

Morrowind rocks, but i prefer playing it on a pc, cuz it takes ages loading on the Xbox.

I've reasearched games on Xbox and GC and found out that the content Xbox offers has nothing to do with me, most of the stuff they sell are total crap and eye candy.Halo = sucks, gta = also sucks, kotor = now thats something worth geting, but i wont buy a whole console for two games.And talking about GC selling kiddy stuff showed me what kind of people play on xbox, so i will be geting a GC tomorow

:/ its up to you man, but take a look at the games in the GC charts, there all aimed for a younger audience. Xbox produces more mature games.

New Zelda game coming out this year and it's 3D (go to IGN)
Anyways i have a gamecube and to be honest i'm starting to regret it
It only cost $99 in australia now (same price as buying a video game)
Gamecube does not have much of a future anymore due to lacking sales
I would just wait till 2006 when next generation consoles will be released, im sure by then Nintendo will get their act together

xbox, pwns a** cos of halo, and halo2... and u can link 3 xbox's together, on 3 seperate tv's and have a 6 vs 6 match of halo for 8 hours straght !!!! (i do this every 3 months with sum friends)

GC is only for kinds, cos most of its games r cartoonish, and for fans of nintendo's work

u will find ppl who had a n64 would rather buy a GC, becasuse it hosts familliar tittles from the n64, like zelda, fox, mario, exc....

i went for a xbox, cos its more reliable, and better graphics, and many multiplayers can play at the same time, so its great for parties exc.... where u can play halo and beat the crap outa eachother, and u can use it to play dvd's and music cd's- and the controlls rock !!!!!!

aswell as that, u can save entire games, and dvd's on a modded xbox, so u dont need the cd !!!!!

wat game r u gonna play on GC at a party?? super smash melee? mario cart: Double Dash??
thoes kinda games r for kids, and r to "happy".... hehehe (but u gotta love the happy music)
and GC dont play dvd's or music cd's

it mite have bee easier to compare ps2 to xbox, but xbox would still pwn ps2 !!!!!!
