3D modeling and .bmd conversions

Hello to everyone.
I need to ask a few questions about item modeling.
I have noticed, that none of the most popular 3d design programs open .bmd files, and thou i have found several programs for bmd to smd converting, I still haven't found one that does the opposite. It was drawn to my attention, that Pentium tools v1.06 has a smd to bmd converter, but i cant manage to make it work (I'm not sure if the program is free or not).
So, my questions are: What programs // plug-ins are used for the bmd file editing and if Pentium tools, how? :D
