Cannot create mio.txt

its been a few years since I've been on ragezone and played mu, but i felt like getting back to it recently, and I've been having this problem with "mio.txt" with 2 servers now, the first one i installed (battle mu) worked with no problems, but im looking for others, so i installed "xMu" and "UltraMu", both of which give me these spammed windows of "cannot create mio.txt (while ending in 2-3 different things) and i was wondering what the cause of this could be.

NOTE: i have turned off antivirus / firewalls and have run as administrator, all of which do nothing, any ideas would be appreciated.

(i have also reinstalled)

(im running windows xp 32 for future reference.

CREATE OTHER FILE FOR BACK UP AND PATCH AGAIN...IF NOTHING HAPPENS PLSS DOWNLOAD AGAIN THE CLIENT..THANKS

I downloaded again, didnt work, (also downloaded with antivirus off and firewall off, didnt work)


also something i think i should mention, when i did it all without antivirus+firewall, the mio.txt spammed much faster, compared to normal, when i could play for like 2 mins before it started, now it spams as soon as i click the launcher...

Try to create mio.txt in Local Disc ( where is System - example C: )
and put to this file text: Memo1 and save the file. I have this problem too.But I don't know what is this.

Im playing UltraMU too, Just downlaoded it yesterday. Right click on main.exe, go to properties go to compatibility

Tick the run this program in compatibility mode and chose windows xp service pack 2

and also tick the last box which is run always as admin

and what do i do if the only options are:

windows 95
windows 98/windows me
windows NT 4.0 (Service pack 5)
windows 2000

and when i try any of them it says i need to use windows xp or later.

(i am running windows xp service pack 2) T_T

just guessing but do i need a system past xp to run in xp compatibility mode?
