The easiest way I think is just to fix your previous problem, that you wouldn't have to restart your server :)

i think he meant private server ''from his computer'' so he must shut his pc off at night or something automaticaly.

anyways here is a thread for restarter for GS but check the last reply, u might be able to make a similar .bat (if its possible to search/detect 'Msg' and hit the shut down button automatically) just like bots lol, but not persisent.

I think that's not what he asking for, as I understand on what he wanted to happened is to have his gameserver like on higher version that have MSG/Minute To Close so it will announce on game and properly exit the account inside the game to avoid data loss or ROLL BACK problem which really occured on lower version.

And for that problem the only way is to announce first in game that you need to restart the server and give the player online a limited time to logout their account to avoid rollback or data loss. You have no way to implement that unless you have the sourcecode of your gameserver.

    @I Am NoLimiT
he can create a BOT that will repeat this process at a specific time by moving the mouse on the gameserver.exe > msg button> 1 - 3 minutes shutdown
i dont think its hard really to script that.

I think you are right, maybe even a macro script bot can do that, but I don't really think why he needs it I know on some rollback issue it's because when the gameserver crash for unknown reason like on bad packets, so if he cannot fixed any gs crash issue still this problem will exist even having a bot that will automatically do that.

yeah ofcourse, but i dont think he mentioned any random gs crashes etc, he just said he needs to shut off the server with timecounter from the GS so players dont get rollback and loose their Exp/Items/Position etc.

shutting it down like that can make your users lose progress in the game

Re: Game server auto shutdown script

Thank you all for the replies

The advice to place the mouse bot is very good, I will opt for this solution

Anyway I'll explain the problem, my server is

    4 vCPUs's Core
    2GB ECC RAM
    40GB SSD

when I start the mu server I still have 1 GB of RAM, but after 1-2 days my free ram drops almost to 0

I do not know how to solve this problem except by restarting the server.

If you have ideas or advice I would be very grateful

    Thank you for your time

best solution ever - put more ram ! :P
i dont think there is solution ... if your players are eating your RAM thats normal my friend.

    what sql server u use?
    what is your host OS?

maybe sql is eating that much memory.
also use this app to findout where ur ram memory goes to ?

I think there's a virus eating your ram, try to run some virus checking since you are only running 97d I think it won't take that much RAM.

hahaha you're right, the best solution would be to put more ram, maybe I will in the future

    SQL 2000 as sql server
    Currently use Windows7 OS

I know it's not great for MuOnline servers, but I feel good enough for now if it were not for this problem of RAM

Anyway thanks for the answers, for the moment I'm using a mouse bot as you suggested, and I must say that is working great :)

I did not think about it

In fact I hosted other Mu servers in the past, but I never had this problem of RAM.

Personally I attributed to the files of the server D.T. I'm using.

On the server does not have an antivirus because I would eat even more ram, if you can recommend a lightweight antivirus that allows me to check I would be grateful

SQL 2000 could be the issue, you can try upgrading to atleast SQL server 2008 R2 which is more secure aswell nowdays, ah and wondering what server files are u running?
Windows 7 is fine :) - awesome that the mouse bot idea worked lol

Antivirus in the server wouldnt be a good idea lol (personally) just keep windows defender/windows firewall and thats it, try to upgrade your sql server version and see if same issue (REMEMBER - When you upgrade from sql 2000 to 2008) you backup first your DB from SQL 2000 and then you must restore it in 2008 (IF For some reason sql 2008 isnt good u cannot backup the sql 2008 actual DB and go back to sql 200 again - u will need to keep the sql 2000) but .. if you make a test day and dont let players connect to the server, then it doesnt matter if sql 2008 didnt work cus then u can use the old SQL 2000 MU Backup on sql 2000 and keep using the bot solution.

    good luck
