you have a bad client...try zhyper mu client. thats what i used

what are port forwards and how important are they?
and how would that help if i can't see a server to connect to

For ports try this :

44405
55903
55901
55906
55557
55980

open firewall, router, windows... And if it dont solve your problem check ip again and at least found an another ConnectServer. You can try another Client too.

i`m not doing that right now s oforget the port forwarding all i want is to get it so i can select the server!
and if you mean for the launcher i already found the right port to connect
