[Help] Does server files have to be in D:??
Hi!!
I've been trying to put a server working on my computer, but just for me, so i went to see some tutorials and all of them show the serverfiles in D: but i used them on C:.
Is it necessary they are on D: or can they be anywhere?

NO, You can create a virtual drive.

even better: you can make a 1.02q server on c without any drive tampering :)

The latest server files it is able to set up at C:
But the old ones like 97d..I dont think can be on C:

actually you can put the server on any drive you want if you make sure you're restoring the databases from mssql to the right drive. I've done it and I've had no problems with using the C drive...

u can make it where ever u want, for example i got it on E disk

I've made servers on the c: drive, when you upload the database backups in sql server, just change the drive to C: instead of D: in the location of the backups (after you select them).

if server say's something about D:\ or M:\ drive just download ultra edit and search for those drives, then replace with C:\

the oldest versions dont work on c: (especcialy not 0.74 (unless you hex all (what could take a few hours)))

thks a lot guys i'm thinking on making a relative new server 1.02n so should work, that detail on restoring the dbs is very important thks
