If it is the message popping up as the blue circles around the alter, then you have xx min for a muse elf (lvl 260+) to click on the circle and make a contract. Then you will get another similar message giving a count down (all times are in your crywolf.dat file to let you know minutes between stage) -- the last is the count down to when balgrass attacks.
