JoinServer doesn't open

I've seen someone with a similar problem at the forum already, but didn't find any solution.

My JoinServer doesn't open. I've set up everything properly, but the file doesn't load at all. Not even a log file. I've tried other JoinServer.exe from other servers already, no difference.

I've found one that loaded, but was completely different, and it's ODBC connection had the automatic authentication method only (NO-PW), which wouldn't work for me, but, however, i did test it on a different computer, it wasn't compatible with the GameServer file.

So, does it require anything installed for it to open properly and load everything?

I've been searching for hours, but couldn't get past this...

Try opening it with compatibility mode
OR/AND
Make sure anti-virus software isn't blocking it

I've tried compatibility with XP SP2, run as adm, deactivating my antivirus, nothing solved this :S

Try making a VM with virtual box and install XP (older OS) and run it there. Maybe it's made for older OSes

I've considered trying that, but i'm pretty sure some ppl here managed to run it with W7 32/64, having to use a VM just seems a bit too much.

it's a question to see whether or not it will run at all. once you see if it works at all, you can try isolating the problem

Also, disabling the user prompt thingy in win7 can be a factor of why it's not working.

Alright, i'll try the VM and post later, which SQL should i use? 2000? 2005? 2008? I'm using the 2008 r2, but i don't know if it makes any difference.

I wanted to say User Account Cotrol. My mistake.

Also if it's pre-season 4, Use MSSQL 2k

Otherwise, 2005 is fine.

I'm trying a Ex702, and my UAC is deactivated aswell. Rly don't know what could it be :S

Try a VM. I used to run SmallHabits ex702 Dev on Server 2003 64 and it was running flawlessly

Never ran it on a 7 though

Yep, it worked on the XP Virtual Machine. Took forever to load, but it did open, but isn't there any way to make it work with w7? =S

Worst case scenario you can just run this baby on a x64 win XP system.

Dude it works for every season ..
just configure ODBC correctly its all about odbc .

All the ODBC was correct, I opened the file and everything looked fine.

If he's still around, he could copy/paste it here so you can see.
