For me atleast i use 2003 and i stopped gettin sockets , atleast 1 week maybe it will happen but rarely.

i already encountered this problem many times this because of your VPS Operating System, You need to change the OS if your hosting have offered a lot of OS then try to change your OS and test it,,because when the first time i encountered this i use WIN 2003 but i still encountered this so i change my OS WIN 2012 and now it is very stable! try switching from different OS and test it, try WIN2k,Win2k3,Win2k8,and Windows 2012
