    Mu Website: remote or local?

I have some questions about mu website.
First of all, who knows what is better: web site on remote host or on local (with server).
Second question is about connection. How can I connect from PHP with my MSSQL 2005? New version of PHP do not supports mssql driver, so i dont know how can I connect from remote host to my local computer using PHP. I heard something about PDO driver, does he supports MSSQL, or what type of connection you can suggest me.

I am really sorry for my english, and I'll be very grateful for any help.

I would suggest remote connection ONLY in case when MSSQL and WEBSERVER is in the SAME NETWORK and the latency between them is <5ms.
A good solution is to host only multimedia content remotely because muwebsites don't have resource hungry scripts.(multimedia = images, css, video,js etc)

Thank you for the answer, that's the easiest solution for me (not to host website remote).
