    Mu Widescreen fix

    Is there any project out there for supporting widescreen resolutions?, all I found was some posts giving offsets in Olly but still leaving artifacts.

    I managed to edit the exes to support 1920x1080 resolutions in newer mains but there is one bug remaining, and thats is that the M key menu got screwed

    Not only your notebook, all new LCDs are widescreen, still I dont see many post around to enable widescreen support, all I see is ppl happy with fancy 3D cams and glow items.

    EDIT: Its possible btw to have 1280x720 without any artifacts, I was curious if anyone found how to fix the M key bug in 1600+ res.

    what is it?
    cant u have it full screen or what ?:D

    Nop Karli, I am speaking of TRUE Widescreen support, not the stretching thing that your gfx made by default. Modifyng the exe allow to support the image scaled properly in your widescreen monitor (again no stretching), the only thing that dont get scaled is the UI interface, since that is a 2D texture, but that doesnt affect gameplay in anyway, but there is an annoying bug and is that the move menu get screwed.

    The problem of using widescreen monitors is that mu doesn't ajust to the borders, so it's a square in a rectangle. :)

    Lol, this is going off topic, the thing is I like to play most games in fullscreen and I want widescreen support for it, there is an excellent page with guides for many games named widescreengaming or something, but sadly for Mu there is not a complete mod.

    So I was trying to implement that in this game, got stuck at a damn bug and since most of the ppl who already tried and succeeded never shared how they did it, I am unable to release a complete, artifact free mod.

    @ulfsark, If you want you can upload your main so I can add custom wide resolutions and the experimental 1920x1080 if you want to see the difference for yourself.

    Can you make a resolution as 1366x768? My notebook got only 14".

    I saw several years ago people were using a .reg file to enter the resolution. Never saw it working though.

    Off course give me a few mins and It will be ready!, you cant enable wide support with reg files alone since the main doesn't include any wide res natively.

    Only way is with olly and some offsets, or dlls attached to the main process. I like more the olly approach since the fix is version dependent anyway, so the dll wont be of any use if you hook it to another version.

    EDIT: WTF! Mediafire didnt let me upload the file twice, this whole Megaupload ordeal is a pain in the ass, now you are more restricted than never.

    Well here is your main, what season it is? it seems pretty old, though the code is almost independent of seasons once you know where are located the offsets, the instructions to enable the wide resolutions inside the zip are self explanatory.

    Added 1366x768 and 1280x720(bugless).

    thanks for the main. it looks nice. i noticed some small failures in the graphics though, I think that mu will never support it very well.
    That was just 1.02c eng main.

    What is the process you used to create new resolution?

    What type of failures? the only one that should be is the move menu bug, aside of that in my season 5 main.exe there is none. Did you tried the 1280x720 that res should be bugless.

    Well the loginscreen for example. It's stretched and showing graphics where doesn't exist at all... But it's nice resolution anyway. :)

    Ah you mean, the first picture (the loading 2d screen with the MU logo) is stretched?. Thats normal, every 2D pic or UI is stretched since the modifications are only in the 3d engine. And the MU logo in the loading screen is at the bottom I think.
