MuCore not connecting to SQL Server 2005

Hi, thanks for reading, im having some trouble trying to connect MuCore to a remote VPS IP, i have no trouble when using MuCore in localhost, i just write "127.0.0.1" or "PC-NAME\SQL-INSTANCE", but when i try to connect remotly via MSSQL/ODBC i get this:

"Warning: mssql_connect() [function.mssql-connect]: Unable to connect to server: 66.XXX.XXX.XXX in E:\xampp\htdocs\engine\adodb\drivers\adodb-mssql.inc.php on line 555
66.XXX.XXX.XXX: Connection error to server '66.XXX.XXX.XXX' with user 'sa'"

Im using SQL Server 2005 Express Edition (i might install Developer/Enterprise edition later)
I already opened the port 1433, remote MuMaker works perfectly, web doesnt.

This is what my "config.php" looks like:

core['server_use_2_db'] = "0";

$core['connection_type'] = "MSSQL";

$core['db_host'] = "66.XXX.XXX.XXX"; //Remote VPS IP

ei edit the $core['db_password'] = "password"; THE DB PASSWORD TO YOUR SQL PASSWORD.

I wrote "password" for not writing my real SQL password, i know that, i wrote the user and password correctly, the thing is the host i think, i dont know how PHP solves the SQL Instance, i dont know. Thanks for answering.

Maybe you can stop the Windows firewall of your VPS. Mybe not only 1433 port need set across the firewall
And need set Surface Area Configuration --> Database Engine --> Remote Connections --->Using TCP/IP
Then let it auto startup and restart MSSQL

Im having some trouble with SQL 2000 not listening on port 1433, also im using Windows Server 2008, i think SQL 2000 is not compatible

@ggragonss: i already did that.

Now i wrote $core['db_host'] = "IP,1433"; and it apparently CONNECTS to the VPS, but now shows MuCore shows "Login failed for user 'webuser.".

I checked the VPS Eventlog and this is what i get in COMPUTER\SQLINSTANCE:

Login failed for user 'sa'. [CLIENT: XXX.XXX.XXX.XXX] //Client:Remote MuCore IP
SSPI handshake failed with error code 0x8009030c while establishing a connection with integrated security; the connection has been closed. [CLIENT: XXX.XXX.XXX.XXX]

I just realized the webhosting is running under linux, and "php_mssql" extension is not enabled, is there any extra parameters to write when using ODBC connection? if i try it with ODBC i get:

 For odbc Connect(), 66.XXX.XXX.XXX is not used. Place dsn in 1st parameter. //More parameters needed?

oh so ur web is hosted on linuxnow or smthing? u must use mssql plugin for apache/xampp for linux etc..

I solved the problem, by connecting with "REMOTEIP\INSTANCE" and changing some stuff in SQL. Thanks for replying all.
