Need advices from experienced individuals

Good day to all,

i need advice, i am planning to put up a private server that could cater up to 300 players online at the same time.

What should be my server requirements to provide good server?
What is the best server files to use?
Any advice on the website to use?
Any help would do and advice as i am on the stage of decision making on which to get and what to get.

Please post anything that could help and i will greatly appreciate.

50-100 players online is already a big achievement in serious private servers that are online for a long time and have earned respect and trust from players over a period of time.Server specs for up to 50 players don't really matter if you have an average internet speed with average upload speed (25Mbit download/5Mbit upload)and if you have computer with multicore processor x64 bit operating system and 4GB Ram(i assume you are going to run mu server,website and do other things at the same time) than you are going to be fine.It depends on what server files you use because some of them are well optimised while others with absolutely same stuff might require x5 more internet and computer resources.For stability and bugless gameplay you should choose season2 files and everything after that comes higher will have more and more bugs and unbalanced flaws but ofcourse you might try to fix them or find a workaround for some of them or you can run high exp server where balance doesn't matter a lot lol.As for websites choose something simple secure and whats in final version of release because new websites with a lot of custom addons just beg for being hacked.


300 players online is most likely something impossible for average server admin (i assume you are one) to acomplish because to have so many players nowadays you need to be a very dedicated and rich in money or programming skills to make this happen.servers that have so many players online have premium server files (what you have to buy for 300-500$) also they rent at least few powerful dedicated server machines with 100Mbit/1Gbit unlimited bandwith and paying for their ads to get more people and programming their own custom stuff to make their server somewhat original.


For starters i suggest you to use Nametech season2 or carefully select one of the season 4 files and as for a website i would suggest a muweb 0.9

thank you wanabepro. can you advice me on what to do and which ones to get? i want the latest mu online game season and episode. i have some funds and budget for it, im just interested to start it and see if it is something that would be fun.

my plan is to rent a dedicated server somewhere, purchase server files, and what else? please give inputs in what providers, files etch.. thanks
