Online hours system- how to add?

I'm willing to add "Online Hours" System which counts the online hours of the player.
I don't actually know how to make the DB count the hours online.
I would like to get some information about it,

As I understood later, the "thing" that will make the count is not the query, its the gameserver.
So I'm asking for the source.

you could use this module http://forum.ragezone.com/f82/mucore...nking-1084225/ then disable the rest rankings and leave Online or Top Online which shows how many hours etc character is playing/played i guess
