    Port forwarding trouble

    hello,

Im trying to launch my server "online" since i have finished all the work on client and server file before make it live but it looks like i need to forward a port to make it work and its 55557. Problem is, its a reserved port on my network and no way to open it. So my questions are:
    - "is this port really needed and what does it do?"
    - "any way to change it so i can forward it properly?"
    - "could it gives me you are disconnected from the server top left of the screen everytime i launch the game? (because not forwarded)"

Everything looks fine on ip config etc. It seems to be this port problem!

    1. if u want the server online yes u should open ports. except if u got modem and ur ports already open .. just run ur server and go to Open Port Check Tool and check if the ports are opened if not .. u must open.
    2. to open them go to start>type cmd , enter > type inside ip config. there is ip Default gateway's copy it go to url browser and paste and there should popup and login screen which should be something like admin password or root 1234 etc if u cant find just google ur modem/router and password to get it. then go to portfowarding place on the router spot and open port 44405 and 55901 which are the main needed ports. enable them on ur lan ip which is the IPv4 Address - ip from cmd ipconfig.

if u want ur server offline then just replace ur ip's to the "IPv4 Address IP and it wil get working without probs"

    Re: Port forwarding trouble

you completely missed the point 44405 and 55901 are open but it looks like something missing i can connect by using the port 55901 but im disconnected (thats classic), i read that 55557 should be open too but i definitly "can't" open it since it is reserved by the isp for "vo-ip".

It sounds like my 44405 is blocked and with your site it says "open" same for 55901. So real question is what is the 55557 port and is it the source of my problem

    55971 TCP
    55960 TCP

    orcan...
in my opinion u dont need other ports than 44405 and 55901 to be opened to run ur server and connect.
manage to open ur ports and everything will run smoothly.

    Re: Port forwarding trouble

that was the topic! i wish i could open it but its reserved by my ISP for voip that is the problem, the solution would be to simply change it but i attempted to modify it at every places i see 55557 but nothing change when i startup the whole server in the CS it still say UDP55557
