Hey, I've been trying to get a mu server working quite some time and i think I've got it working now but it takes probably over half an hour (30min) to start the server.
I'm using MUEngine Public v1 and MUServerStartup 1.2 with almost all delays at 1000, some are at 2000.
I'm using SQL Server 2005 as thats what people said MUEngine is made for.
Also, my processor is a i7 2600K at default speed if that matters.
OS is Windows 7 64bit.
Does anyone have a clue to what the problem might be ?

do uhave that problem also with other files?
My computer is generally slow for a few minutes after startup in the morning but when i was trying to run the servers the computer was real fast, with the exception that it takes forever to start the servers.Originally Posted by karLi
So no, its only the ~12 mu server files that are super slow.
The only other problem is that GS and GSCS is crashing without putting anything in the log files, it just says that it has stopped working.
hmm ,so u got windows xp ? windows 7 what u got.? change compatibility mode maybe?
I have Windows 7 64bit, changing the compatibility mode doesn't seem to affect it.
running it as admin ?

maybe install full updates on ur os.
Damn, i already tested run as admin which by the way it does automatically when you run in compatibility mode
When you previously run it with no problem it's probably the setting that you have changed,
so take note every changes on settings to prevent losing a clue.
I didn't say that i had it working with no problem before.
I said i think i got it working but it takes a very long time to start.

How much RAM memory do you have? Check the process of your server with process explorer to see if it uses HDD pagefile instead of RAM, this may be the cause of slowness.
I have 16GB of ram. Where in the task manager/process explorer do i check if it uses pagefile instead of ram?
All of the programs seems to be running at 10000kb of memory or more and alot of them are over 100000kb of memory.
Edit: now when i come to think of it, the process explorer might not be the task manager and if so i have no clue on how to even open it.
Oh and if it is using pagefile like you said, how would i go about changing that ?

And also, my paging filesize is set to 16GB. Also, might be worth mentioning that i only have 66GB of free space on my C:\ drive.

if you use StartUp its maybe have time limit for start next exe, check it in startup configs

Check the resource monitor(start from task manager) while your server starts and see which process uses the resources. Also try to disable antivirus and if this is the problem add the server's folder to exceptions.
Yes i have all those things.
Dataserver is using 100000kb+ memory in there, and it says 6000kb+ memory shared or something like that.
Also, disabling my antivirus (nod32) didn't help either.
is that happening with other files?
