Web Hosting or VPS

Hi there,
I have a question, I wanted to know which is best option. Using a hosting or VPS for create a website?
Which is safer? what web server is most recommended? i read in internet that xampp is not recommended

Shared hosting is fine for just hosting a small website.

If you are looking for a webserver you should look into IIS (Windows) or Nginx (Windows & Linux).

But i can set up a website on a linux webhosting? I have understood that MS SQL does not run in a Linux environment

1. Use xampp 1.7.1 and protect it.(protect phpmyadmin or even delete it).. what else do you need?
2. use mucore (be sure u deleted install folder after installing .
3. It might be better hosting your website only on VPS/linux yes, ofcourse.. but if that was Easy to do everyone would do it.
you need to find out and make it connect to your MSSQL Databases, thats why you canot make server on Linux
even with that Emulator program or whatever it is you will have troubles.

just use Windows VPS windows server 2008/2003/ win 7, etc. shared with atleast 100mbps network connection
and if u think u willl get DDoSed then u should buy a protected host instead.
