Which program to use to host website?

I'm in doubt on which program to use, Appserv, Xampp 1.7.1 and others who have what is more recommended for use? I am using Windows Server 2008 R2

xampp 1.7.1 its great yeah . and enough . also 1.7.3 could work too .

but ur question asks what program to use to host?

just use MSSQL Server 2000 if it wont work use sql server 2005 if stilll not then use 2008 its simple , for the rest ask google cus those questions are answered alot of times.

Xampp 1.7.1 (cause it has mssql.dll)
MSSQL 2000 (easiest UI)
Windows XP64 or windows server. Both OS are good for hosting

Get a webhost which allows MSSQL connections , It's better than hosting a website on your own Dedicated Server.
Helps you not spending bandwidth for useless transfers, like Images.

If you don't like using a webhost for your website , I recommend Xampp 1.7.3 or even Xampp 1.7.7 .

With all respect mr. xDarKyx, after XAMPP 1.7.1, apache friends decided to drop support for mssql.dll.
Yes there are new versions that replace mssql.dll, but 1.7.1 works best with most, if not all, muwebsites out there
