I think its on odbc i use for win 32b. Maybe some have odbc for win7 32bit?
If you use win7 on 64 bits is impossible to have 32bits ODBC. And the other way around tho.

Edit ur odbc.reg and put instead as (local) name put ur PC-NAME

before installation,edit config.php and select ODBC connection and not MSSQL.
Connection failed error is because you are using xampp 1.7.7 and you need to download new mssql .dll modules server pack and add extensions at php.ini in your apache.
Get xampp 1.7.1 and your MSSQL will connect with success or you can try to fix your 1.7.7 with those new modules patch, it is just that i have posted what to do several times in few days already and i am not going to do that again everytime someone will ask the same question.
If you are using remote website you would need to unlock some ports on your machine.
