thx Bro :D
i have a small issue i need some help with, i usually dont post to ask things, but it seems im stuck.
i have a dedicated server, i have the server starting fine, loads the db fine, loads all the items and stuff fine (at least from what i can tell)
i have made exceptions in my fire wall for the following ports:
5330 tcp and upd
5340 tcp and udp
5350 tcp and udp
5351 tcp and udp
when some one logs in, they log in fine, get a server list, but as soon as the server list is clicked on it goes back tot he main screen where the game start button is and just stays there.
confusing even more, is i can set it up on my home network with those same ports forwarded, and using my LAN IP in the warrock exe i can get past the server list and create a room and everything, my dedi isnt a vps, its an actual dedicated server with the same exact hardware and stats as my home PC has (better actually) and yes, i have the dedi IP in the warrock exe (obviously or i couldnt log in)
so, what am i missing? i know its something small and stupid, been over this post and the release post about 100 times and cant find it so far, any help would be appreciated.
**EDIT***
ok, so i thought maybe it was a port issue, thinking maybe i missed a port in there, but i turned my firewall completely off, and still had the same issue, so its not a port/firewall issue, so im still looking and waiting for a reply that may help me.
on a side note, i see alot of ppl saying to port forward port 3306, which is the port for mysql, this is a very bad idea, the servers only need to talk to the mysql server, not the client, so unless your mysql server is on a different machine than ur server files are, there is no need to port forward 3306 (or make an exception for it in ur firewall) since the server files are looking at localhost for the connection, there is no need to open it to the external public, all you do by doing this is allow hackers the opportunity to get in ur database and collect account information and the ability to make their accounts premium and/or GM
Thanks for the tutorial very good but is this really adviced for 1.8.1 or higher versions of Xampp because I'm installing 1.7.3 on my VPS now.
Anyway thanks I'm going to try this out when I have time for it.
