Average user counts?
The community I've run have decided that out of all the private servers they could have hosted they want to try RO :g: .
How many people not including my own community can I expect to get on an average server? (Need to work out resource and bandwidth partitioning).

with the correct server settings, and scripts/etc you could get plenty of users, in time and correct advertising.

Come on, give me a figure... the mir2 servers peak at about 20 users, lineage at about 30 as a global average.

Re: Average user counts?
well, it all depends on the server u can get about an average of 25-30 users online at once, if you wait and advertise it well.

Re: Average user counts?
all depends on what npcs you have, rates and all that. can be everything from 5 players to around 2000. On eAOS (eAthena Official Server) we had around 600-700 players online during WoE.

All is well...
Re: Average user counts?
Give them something special lol
Rates and npcs don't do it for me... I play servers based on player count. So no players = no me ^_^
You have to have a different idea or the winners just keep winning and you just keep losing hehe
Right now I'm making a server and I'm designing some out of game features like my sig (which happens to be down because it's hosted on my comp atm) which displays user stats: Name, lvl, pic of char, guild, etc
And things to make support easier: cash shop, several contact features, forums & server merged (they share a database), and some other stuff that goes on behind the scenes.
You have to pull them in before they even start playing the game. A flashy site helps and so does cheating on the rankings it seems lol.

Re: Average user counts?
One of the largest servers (has 1200 players or something) is a x1/x1/x1 rate server with no custom NPCs. But the servers with most players are low rate (from x1 to x7).
