im not an expert but.... do you have an static ip address?? have you configured your router to allow them to connect?? what ips did you check??

actually i'm using a no ip duc program that automatically puts in ip for me. so i never have to change the sclient info. also i don;t think i am using a static ip address unless it comes with cable internet. my ip match up when i run a ipconfig in a cmd and check what the server is loading to.

ok i learned i don;t have a static ip. Are static ip's required to run a server?

not really but a static ip mean your ip never changes and the people that play your server wont have to change their ip everytime they login

Your Ip's fine as long as you use no-ip :P Try messing around with the subnet and subnet mask settings in your config folder (I forget the file, sorry :\).

ok i got someone to connect, but the problem is for some reason when i connect no one else can connect. Unfortunately i was at work at the time so i am unsure as wether that has a factor in it. Can someone tell me the exact file that controls max chars on server at any given time.
*edit* woould my subnet mask being different that default play any factor in users connecting. and if so where can i find the file to edit it???

ok i got the server to work. now here's the funny part, for some reason late at night my server disconnects everyone and doesn;t let anyone but me log in. now why is that????? is it because the cable service in the 702 area doesn;t allow people using their service to host servers??? please tell me if anyone who reads this forum uses cox, and has no problem hosting their server.
