Re: Complete Endless Ages Server
Made alot of progress. I suggest using Windows Server 2003, so you don't run into clumps of Bs.
Recommended programs -
EA Server Files
IIS 6
MySQL Community Server
MySQL Workbench
Windows Server 2003
ASPNET AJAX 1.0/2.0
Microsoft DirectX August 2008
Visual Studios 2005

No, if my server is down I'm probably busy. I'll be back on sooner or later. Relax.
But if you made some progress post some pics so when I come here I can see.
And my forums is back up...until I screw it up again :P

If you're running Windows 7 be sure to install IIS 6 from Control Panel > Programs and Features > Turn Windows Features on or Off and enable all the IIS 6 compatibility options. If you're running Windows XP it should be fine just to install it normally from Add/Remove programs.
With DirectX be sure to get the SDK version as you get developer tools need for compiling the LIB files.
I'm not sure but I think Visual Studio 2005 SP1 might need to be the Pro Edition...still working on that issue.
Also not sure you need Windows Server 2003 as IIS is a stand alone web server. However it says it's a requirement for VS but I don't know if W7 and IIS 7 were updated to run all that. After solving a bunch of other issues the ASP.NET web error page is saying it can't connect to the SQL database. I'm about to change from MySQL to MS SQL just because of proprietary conflicts I suspect might be going on.
Not sure I'd *recommend* any programs or apps just yet.

Yea... but if they wanna stay up with us and/or help us... then they might wanna match the programs. Abyss won't be needed with IIS.

They're on my website but I have it down while I'm changing servers and software. I'll restore them as soon as possible. Perhaps Nucious has a link he can help with in the meantime?
