Hi guyz how can i switch that Linux to Desktop mode ? or i cant ?

For those asking for the link, I'll repost them here:
Server files (Thanks to Lemonadez for the upload, basher for releasing): http://www.megaupload.com/?d=3NV3X5JH
Client modified by me, which works fine with the guide: http://www.megaupload.com/?d=81XSQI2G
I'm also releasing in this post my modified darkeden site, it's basically the one that MG1978 posted, but extensively modified by me, and I take credit for all the new stuff on it (like character deletion, jc system, better market, gold medals to market points, reflection skill for enchanters, fixed registration, etc), and the translations.
You'll have to execute the 3 .sqls I'm providing with the website. The GoodsListInfo is the improved market I created, the Player one is used to modify the Player table to add the ShopPoints column and the GoldMedal one is thanks to MG1978 for the structure of that table.
Anyway, here's the link: http://rapidshare.com/files/234474005/DK2WEB.7z
Thanks,
Bye.

nice one bloody ;)
I hope someone will answer my questions. Well, I want to make an online server, just for myself and my friends. I've come so far, that I can access internet from vmware (I can ping google.com without loss) but now I don't know what to do anymore.
Right now, my "ips" are like this:
my own IP : 88.196.199.51 (it's static, i'll set up dynDNS after I get it online at least once, but nvm that atm)
from Vmware "virtual machine settings" Summary, VMNet0 (Nat)'s subnet is 192.168.5.0 and DHCP enabled.
In DHCP tab, Start IP is 192.168.5.150. and is also VMNet 0
In NAT tab, VMnet host 0 is in use. Gateway IP is 192.168.5.150 and I've forwarded ports 3306, 99*** 9998 and 9999 for IP 192.168.5.10, and in both TCP and UDP.
And as I said, I can ping google.com without any loss.
If I start the server, it starts up all nice, and everything is okay, but I can't connect, not with IP 192.168.5.10 nor with my own. So what do I have to do? And which of those IPs is the VMWare IP? And also, how do I need to change the database (you know, loginserver, sharedserver and one other file).
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Edit:/ forgot to mention that I can't connect mysql database using navicat, tryied both IPs. 192.168.5.1 and 88.196.199.51

If you want to make it online you'll have to use Bridged networking, and configure the virtual machine to use your network's gateway. You just need to set up 'netconfig' again and make it get the ip automatically. About the server, try pinging the vm through cmd with ping 192.168.5.10 It should ping okay, if it doesn't, you better recheck your configurations, because your network is not being able to see vmware's network. The VMware ip itself, if you mean the network ip, would be 192.168.5.1, but the ip of the machine is 192.168.5.10 I didn't understand your database question, if you could please rephrase. Thanks, Bye.
Wow, I wasn't expect an answer this quickly. Well, I changed some of the IPs and all, and it worked just fine, but I couldn't get connection with the client. I got anvicat working and also when i hit ./start, it loads up and shows that "INFINITIVE LOOP" and send those messages (the same message over and over agan) like it normally would.
But thanks a lot, mate
I'll test some more, and if I run into anything, I'll post again, but seriously, thank you very much.
Edit:/ the database, yeah...GameServerInfo and WorldDBInfo and how do I configure the three conf files? Oh, and at the moment, I can't ping 192.168.5.10 with success
Edit2:/ I can ping my router IP, the 'rea'lIP and google.com from VMWare, but I can't ping VMware network nor machine from cmd, so which configurations are wrong?

If you're using bridged networking to make it online, you'll have to get the virtual machine's ip address to connect to it, or check the number To edit the conf files you just need to use: cd /home/darkeden/vs/conf and vi excelt96-gameserver.conf and etc, I show it on my guide. Bye.
Ok, So i'll leave them 127.0.0.1 or to 192.168.5.10? (gameserver, sharedserver and loginserver)
And yes, I'm using bridged networking to make it online. (I choose custom, and VNet0 and I have my ethernet card bridged to it.
But I'm really, really confused now. I can ping everything (that excists) from VMWare, but I can't ping VMWare from cmd.
My router's IP is 192.168.1.65, and I've changed the Ip to 192.168.1.10 and the NAT gateway to 192.168.1.65 and change IPs in netconfig, I can still ping, but no changes from cmd.
Edit: also send you a pm
Edit2:/ I can ping both now. Now I'm trying to forward my ports. I think my server is online, but can't be connected because my ports are closed. And by the way, which ports do I have to forward anyway?
edit3:/ Looks like I can connect to my IP after forwaring ports 99*** 9998 and 9997 from my router, but my friends cant, oh and I can only get into the account, after I choose character, I get DC. Any help?
edit4:/ I used port scanner, and found out that only UDP ports are open, TCP ones are still closed, even though I opened them, any ideas?

How it works for me: change ALL IPs (conf files, DB) to 192.168.1.10 (10 is for example) - so they will match your routers subnet (3rd number, in your case 1) and in db change GameServerInfo IP = your "net IP" ( 88.196.199.51).. Run netconfig, fill there 192.168.1.10, 255.255.255.0, router IP, router IP ... network restart, try to ping something... Forward ports.. Then start it and connect to your "net" IP..
Thank you very much, you should post this easy guide in every forum (that has the same kind of topic going on), it would help a lot of people.
Oh, and thank you too, couldn't have gotten anywhere without your help o.o
edit:// think i got it to work, not sure yet, have to wait until my friend DLs the client. But anyway, what gateway do you use in NAT tab, 150 or 65*?
*65 would be for me, as my router's IP is 192.168.1.65
edit:/ If i put gateway 192.168.1.65 in NAT tab and in netconfig, I get "IP conflict" and I can't ping from VMWare. But if I put gateway 192.168.1.150 in NAT tab and in netconfig, it dosen't send me any "IP conflict" and I can log in, but nobody else can. Ideas?
