    Disney MMO Retaliation

I'm thinking about working on a private server for one of Disney's MMO's and I'm wondering what kind of resistance I can expect to get from them? Even if it is completely underground? I don't think this has been attempted before other than the crappy club penguin servers out there I've seen, and I think they just got DMCA notices.

You should be safe if you only do development and host server locally.

If you go and host a public server, do it on Hostkey or similar company to be safe.

holy crap I LOVE Toontown!! If you can make a private server, that will possibly be one of the best things ever. You have my support.

To answer your question: Disney will not care about it at all unless you actually open a server all publicly and whatnot with donations and etc. Though if you release the server source possibly, then multiple and multiple servers can open up and maybe Disney will be like "oh screw it." and just be a little more nicer about it.

In shorter terms, I'm confident enough they won't be too anal about it.

Right now I'm grabbing packets. I still need to find Disney's SSL key which will let me decrypt everything through Wireshark but that's only a matter of time.

In all honestly I'll probably have a public server but it would have to be completely free in all aspects just to cover my ass. It all depends.

If anyone has any help they could offer here with SSL feel free to hit me up here. Thanks for the good wishes guys. :)

The most striking feature that sets Disney Fantasy Online, the first Disney-themed MMORPG, apart from other leisure titles is that players will be able to embark on a series of adventures and create immortal legends of their own in the Disney world, in which Disney-themed character design presents you with vivid gaming experience, and novel, delicate, refined and graceful costumes make you feel like a Disney star.

Lol, not doing that; probably would be doing Toontown if I could do anything. Right now I'm having issues... looks like I'm going to need the private SSL key to decrypt anything so I'm going to have to use Olly to trace everything back.

Any estimate on how long you'll probably get it, and create a source and actually start getting to be able get in-game?

I'm sorry to say but Disney Fantasy Online is not really the best game in my opinion, and it seems like many people in the online world can agree with me (all of the reviews online). Toontown is a much much more enjoyable MMORPG by Disney (opinion) and way more popular (true fact).
