Some time ago I have found SUN server files and on china forum, tested it out and translated client a bit so it would be playable.
Server files are stable however there is some bugs, so if anyone interested in releasing some fixes it could be a new era for amazing MMORPG private servers reborn.

SunOnline Server 1602 setup guide:

Step 1: Attach the database:
SUN_Log_CH.mdf
SUNOnline_CH_1204.mdf
Wops_RTTDB_CH.mdf

Database requirements SQL server 2019

Before the second step: SQL server 2019 to open the TCP/IP protocol
Open SQL server configuration manager
SQL server network configuration
TCP/IP enable (leave the TCP dynamic port blank in the properties, and fill in 1433 for the TCP port).

Step 2: Establish an ODBC connection: Run ODBC.reg in DB folder

Step 3: Modify IP 127.0.0.1 and SQL username and password (default u: sa p: password)

AgentServer.ini - IP
GameServer.ini - IP

SunServer.ini - IP
WorldServer.ini - IP
Auth folder:

Client: Hex Edit SUN1602.exe in game client and replace IP 38.242.197.111 with your IP

Step 4: Install the registration function:
1. Copy WZ_MD5.dll to the binn folder of the SQL installation directory.
2. Open the Enterprise Manager (SQL Server Enterprise Manager) and execute XP_Install.sql

3. Registration method: open SUNOnline_CH_1204--stored procedure--dbo.S_UserCreate, execute the stored procedure
@userID: Account
@PassWD: password
@userSts: Status (fill in 0, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 100)
# 0: Normal Account # 1: 1st beta tester
# 2: Banned Account # 3: 2nd beta tester
# 4: Internal Account # 5: Overseas Account
# 100 or above: GM account

Run Launch server.bat to start server

IF you know which bugs there are than please share the list with us! Also if any game breaking bug exists, like damage hack, or something.

I will upload bug list a bit later, when it will be completed. Right now main bugs are:
Cube - assembly crashes client, but materials don't disappear
Moving sewer of the passage freezes char and crashes client, after that you will have to change coordinates in DB to unstuck the char.

How many instances is running in your background? Also Is there any kind of error on them or bad connections?

total 8 the only error is in world server ERROR : No GameDBProxy

There is issues with DB Proxy, its not running and one more process is killed in the launch sequence, I would suggest you to check DB proxy, if it everything is configured properly, also, check ODBC connection, it also can be an issue. What kind of MSSQL version you are running x86 or x64?

After the server is reset, all game progress on the account disappears. have to start again

when restart server = item what i buy from shop i disapear , all stats back at begining!!!

Server files is stable

Bug`s
1.Wings visual bug (i think is from Client)
2.When restart server - random things is saved , some disapear(GUILD STORAGE IS WORK you can save everything there,Personal storage not work)
3.Random disc/error when you move some town or zone
4.Still need some Eng translate on Client ( when get exp from mobs show me "&^%$%#$")

i`m not sure about GM acc and GM commands( idk how to use it/write it)
