PD 1: I downloaded HOT全套.7z.001 and the archive is broken... re-downloading.

there are 2 of them HOT全套.7z.001 and HOT全套.7z.002

i assume they need eachother to get extracted if 1 is missing then it will throw error.

good thing HOT全套.7z.002 can be downloaded without download manager because file size is small but 001 can not download because it requires download manager.

Use a download manager or the actual Baidu Downloader itself.
100% download every time and much faster than using browser only.



IE Internet Download Manager or JDownloader



PS You only open the HOT全套.7z.001 archive in 7zip to extract the files from both HOT全套.7z.001 and HOT全套.7z.002
But yes, you need both pieces to access the archive contents.

btw, i was using the repack and map_editor.exe
when i tested it i opened a few maps from client but all dark(no lighting) so using the map_editor.exe L&M tab jacked up the ambient light sliders
but did not seem to affect lighthing from map.

have you tried it before, maybe it is just me, but would like to see if it is map_editor.exe ambient light bug.

I never tested that map editor. Just saying. No idea if it even works or wont destroy the map lighting.

I don't even recall compiling it, may had been the original which would make a lot of sense.

map editor pretty much sucks, half of it work
the worse is the half that works it doe it very inconsistent, meaning sometimes it works.

so that makes map editor pretty much useless. ouch..

no working map editor = no scene customization.
ill be damned :-(

i dont know, it may takes some serious effort to make it useful, but it mostly will take some recoding, will take a look incase it is something simple, if not it may not be worth investing time on it will see

Going to take some real effort on your end.
Its a mix of english / chinese and your talking Old database schema.
Not worth the effort in my book, but that is just my opinion.

Instead of talking bad about it.
Modify it or customize the other map editor to work.
That'd be a much wiser decision. ;0)

that would of been the first thing i would done, but the othe map editor is in worse shape, thaf one is pretty much 80% non working .
so would be a mistake to try to fix the other one.

this one at least you see terrain sculpting, fog, and texture painter half working. the other one not even these

like i said, if it is simple fixing ill try to fix if find out needs complete rewrite wont be wort investing time on it since i assume this is not the only thing faukty in the whole engine, too old technology.

Again Devil Hegemony, Secret OL, Heroes of Thessalonica, TiJian blah blah blah are all based on same engine.
At least Secret OL was newer than Devil, but actually survived past Beta.
So I would "Hope" that they actually had a functional map editor.
Search the forum for Secret OL.

one note ybtx warrior king so far seems to be in better shape as i noticed, mysql driven, windows and linux server graphics look gorgeous, the game logic seems fun, it 100% compiles out of the box, but has 1 big, big flaw, scene editor too useless, i spent too much time trying to figure out to make it work but no success.
i might of missing some config setup or something, bit i gave up on it. i just dont understand why no logical reason or debug info to try to fix, bothing i could do, or my brain got fried trying too hard. that i may be missing a simple fix.

ohhh, and 0 documentation, this will hurt so bad if you sailing alone, who to go if you hit a brickwall.

1. He's not leeching, he's actually been working hard to test different sets of files. So ease up. :0)
2. About the off-topic game, no, I have not looked into the game. After searching for clients, found they are not available. Making it a game I wouldn't work on.
