[SHARE] Cyclone BMX Online

[aqualung]

Game is DOB, multiplayer lobby style 3rd person game with in-game rental shop, in english it translates to something like Cyclone BMX. This pack includes the Server, Client and Setup Video. Older game but it does work. It uses the A-vs-P game engine so it can be modified with the released tools for A-vs-P (Original). Server is for W1nd0ws but I also have ran it on Ubuntu 10 through WINE with no issues. DB script is included in Server Archive and is MySQL. It's noted to use ver 3.2 something but I ran on newer with no issues. Interface can be translated using DEdit (from A-vs-P tools) to convert format and photoshop (I used 7.0) to manuiplate and translate the .tga files, then once again coverting back with DEdit. lithrez (from A-vs-P tools) can be used to unpack\repack client files.

Command line to bypass launcher\updater:
Rename dobgame.dat to dobgame.exe and create shortcut with the following info:

dobgame.exe -rez engine.rez -rez rez\dtx.rez -rez rez\ltb.rez -rez rez -config autoexec.cfg


Server exe and dll mostly translated to English by me! Also, my ini's as they are now except password and outside IP changed. See Help.txt inside to see what to change. Don't change anything else until you have it up and running, not even the server name.

I mounted vmware and tested it on different operating systems and it's still a no go! I'm getting the same error as before. The logs give those errors and a window pops up saying, "Service loader create failed". Now i looked through the files and i went into the ini files, in loader.ini theres a line that says "create=" the default is create=1. Now im guessing that this creates a service for the connection. Well if i put that to 0 it doesn't attempt to load the service dll files. and it opens and the server goes up. Well appears to be up anyway. However the client doesn't connect to the server. So.. my guess is my error has something to do with the dll files cause im sure it's confiurged properly and as i said i looked around for a bit and that's the only problem i found. PS: if the database doesn't execute for what ever reason heres a fix.

EDIT: Didn't work on any of the windows platforms i have tried.

Sorry guys , was away for a while. These file's work, not sure why your getting errors. What version of MySQL you using? If it's newer, you must set the account to use the old password method or the server cannot authenticate. I did some translating on the Server .exe's, I will add them to the 1st post. It's been a while, can't remember where I originally got these. I still have them on my linux box, let me run through them and see if I left any info out.

Good news, i mounted it into vmware with the mysql version it's known to use. It works i can open n stuff and login but when i go to select the channel i double click and nothing happens.. any idea?

EDIT: do you have mysql 3.23.42 ? cause i have mysql 3.23.49 and im getting an error..

It does this when i double click on the channel..


it seems like the closer i get to the servers correct version it becomes more stable.

Also, would you be willing to give us your translated interface? I wasn't able to find the tools necessarily to do so. I translated the strings in the client but for some reason i can't use spaces between my words. For example.

Your're banned. comes out like You're. removes all of the words after it.

Because the file's are uc you need to use an _ in place of a space in some of the files. Others will take spaces. I will post a link to the editing tools shortly. Not sure why you are having any problems with these file, as far as I remember there was nothing really tricky about them. I am using MySQL 5 and it works fine, just set DB User to use the old password encryption mode. AvP Editing Tools Same Pass. AquaLung

Alright! I got it working using an old version of mysql. Not far from the original version and everything works so far. No errors and no issues. I wasn't able to get it to work with 5.1 5.0 or any other versions that were over 3.3. I even tried doing the Old password encryption and i tried it on ubuntu but it still didn't work. I'll be posting a whole new guide in a few minutes and possible a completely translated client. I thank you again for this release and helping me out and last but not least. Are there still rights intact to this game and was it EVER released?
