Re: [Tutorial] : How to make 9dragons US Server file working.
Hello everyone. Thanks for the Server Files, for the Oper Tool, for the great tutorial and for all user contribution.
For those who have issues with GG, I suggest you make sure your Apache server is accessible from outside your LAN. If it is not, make sure you have forwarded the port properly and configured your firewall. You may need to reset you router for changes to take effect. Also, make sure you do not have a Torrent application using one of your important ports.
Regarding external connections, I am in a similar quandary with others who have already posted here. After a lot of struggle, the status server, patch server and login server appear to work, as I could connect and log in with a 3G connection. However, I still cannot connect to the game server. I have forwarded *a lot* of ports trying to do that, pretty much every port that seemed map-related or any other port that appeared to be listening for connections. No luck yet, not sure if the game server runs on some other, unknown port, or if the issue is in some other configuration files. Perhaps something is denying remote connections to a certain database? I don't know.
Anyway, if anybody had more luck than me, please, go ahead and share. If I do find the solution, I surely will post it here :)
EDIT: Forwarded 1 to 65535 (desperate solution :D). However, no luck. I'll keep looking for other possible reasons.
And one more thing... for those whose autoconf.py failed, I really recommend trying to restore the backup manually, as the SQL Server will give you the exact error that's occurring. In my case, for example, there wasn't enough space left on the drive.

I'm facing the same problem. Also opened all ports like you xD but couldn't manage to make it work yet. Login succeeds but it fails at connecting to gameserver. Maybe because it's connecting through mobile network and it lags?
*EDIT*: I just tried it from a friends home computer. He also manages to pass loginserver but fails connecting to gameserver. So it's not a mobile network "thingy".
Any help would be appreciated.

take down the fire wall and test
u need to make a new rule for every tcp / udp game server uses
especially the udp ports cause i suspect the fail in connecting to game server is the fire wall blocking the port between the login and GS

I've opened the ports long before on my firewall and also turned it off completely. Without success.
Also i've figured out the maps use the ports 20001 - 20023. I've forwarded them aswell and opened them in my firewall - no success yet.
Re: [Tutorial] : How to make 9dragons US Server file working.
I also turned off the firewall completely, so the problem couldn't be there. Nevertheless, what really bothers me is that connections via LAN work (obviously), which means the server is running well and the client is also properly configured to connect. I just can't imagine what is different when the connection comes from a different source.
Oh, and it is probably interesting to note that trying to run the server and the client on the same machine results in a total fail, the client being unable to even fetch the upgrade information. I carefully checked all configs, ports, etc., tried using localhost instead of internal IP, yet no luck with it. Anyway, that is not so important. Getting it online is.
soly95, did you get yours to work online? Or did anyone at all?

BTW. I made short list of useful pills with NULL/empty/bad name. You can use these IDs to add pills/stack of 'em to character via OPER_TOOL.
If somewhere is written (ALL CHECK) - please check if these pills are working (exp cards & LL pills)

9d serv - pills - Pastebin.com
I've found few other, nice items like Icy banners & some funny relicts, but I lost these IDs.
I can tell only, wis/str +25 orns, banners and lv1~10 elixirs are existing there.

You need to click "add Item" or something like that. My sv is not working, idk why, my DB got fcked up somehow, so I can't make a video tutorial so far. But it's easy, just read few posts earlier, I described it how to add items.

the only way is packet sniffing, i mean send a fake packet to the game server as it comes from the GM client
but this 80% impossible since they changed the client structure and encryption long ago and all we have an old client suspected to be a GM client.

I finally managed to make it work.
I am using windows server 2008 R2 now, and first I was confronted with the same problem (again not able to pass the gamelogin).
Then I again decided to turn off the Firewall completely (Like I actually did on my previous win8 based server) But this time it worked.
As it seems it's all just a firewall issue I can't tell if the windows server 2008 OS is also additionally responsible for making it work.
Re: [Tutorial] : How to make 9dragons US Server file working.

Re: [Tutorial] : How to make 9dragons US Server file working.
I just wrote a ConsoleApplication (.exe file) to create new accounts based on ZeroBurners Query. (Works ALSO with wiped DB/Empty Tables).
It requests the SA credentials.
Feel free to use it.
