If you're going to make a real web browser, you should use C/C++ for the core rendering engine (use webkit or something that is maintained by a team of very talented programmers, open-source ftw). Above that, I can see customizing your own browser if you'd like, but my guess without looking at this at all is that it uses an IE OLE object or something to render a page? If this is the case and you really want to make your own browser, I'd have to stress the importance of avoiidng IE's engine at all costs, as it is one of the poorest out there.

It's called an analogy :). I don't think you are quite as experienced as I am and so the obviousness of this aren't apparent to you, but the point of my relating this to building a house with paper & wax is to show how, while sure it's not killing someone, that doesn't mean you should do it. In the end, the house would be worthless and all the time/effort spent would've been wasted, and you'll have nothing to show for it. It's not resume-able, and nobody will use it because it's just IE and IE has more features than you can implement in VB (no offense) :\.
Not to mention, it doesn't pass ACID tests and does not conform to most other standards as well.

He just made it to improve his skills, he isnt making it to beat IE or FF or GC or SAFARI or any other browser and he wanted to share it at the proper section of ragezone, whats your problem with it? You didnt like it, dont comment, you think it isnt going to be a good browser because of everything you said at your first post, you dont need to come back and make him give up of the work.
I'm simply suggesting ways to improve it and make it a more satisfying project, both in the end-result and in the experience it will produce. If he really wants to improve his skills, dragging an IE frame into a VB form isn't gonna do that :).
Yep, I see you did that at your first post, you did nice at your first post, but the second post was like: "give up on this and make in another language", that isnt what you need to say to people :P I dont know if you get what I mean xD
And he is going to implement other things that will improve his logical/programming skills ;]
I think that he should use another language too, but you already said that it isnt good and why(always tell people why things are bad/good) so its up to him what to do :P
This isn't something profession it was something to mess around with and show off <_<.
Again, if you want to "show off", I'd be more impressed if you took my suggestion :D.

Rofl, Those comments are prob hurtfull to her lol. Anyway it's super easy to make a web browser, I made this in about 5 mins. With user settings using registry, it saves the location of where it was. how big it was made and if maximized or normal. oh and opacity feature. Yep good stuff..
