It's not too bad, but it has a bad spacing, and background is too much instrusive, it overall lack volume. :)

Like others said, the background isn't too great. It kinda hurts your eyes. And to me, the colors don't work.

Keep practicing ;)

Look at other templates, take note on width parameters, color bouncing, spacing/padding, and design tactics.

Edit: Get Firebug add-on for firefox, too.
