I know its completely not right, but its a framework.. and its got all the necessary features.
Maybe a forum system would be awesome?

At least this is proper PHP coding, I could probably learn something from this.
At the very least, the module system should be a great tool for you to learn PHP. When you do PHP tutorials, you can use that to quickly test your work through trial and error. I wouldn't recommend editing modules on the "Edit Module" page because if it errors, you won't be able to fix it on that page. Though if something like that goes wrong, you can browse the site tree for the broken module and fix it through the manual editor.

The best way to do it would be making a page for testing {admin protected}, in which you'll work on by switching tabs in your browser between the module editor to the testing page. I can do this much faster then editing+uploading+refreshing page. It's arguable whether or not it's faster than using notepad++ and refreshing via localhost server.

Anyway, I hope everything goes well, and who knows, in the future it may have a forum package you can snap onto it ;)

Well right now the forum is in it's "idea" stage, with a ton of other things.. unfortunately I don't have much spare time to work on it.

If I do get the time, I'll see if I can rig a phpBB forum to work with it or something..

    That'd be nice.
Forum systems are complex and require a lot of knowledge (which you already have ) so this should be a dabble.
Any other awesome ideas for WYSGUI?

Well the main package is complete. There's a little bug with error messages when a module gets deleted. Everything works with it, it's just annoying because I guess it tries to load the module after it gets deleted. I think I'll remove the event system for now and revise it. That one doesn't need to be a stock module.

The forum would be very time-consuming, and a learning experience for me. I see ways it could be done but time is money and I don't have either right now so I gotta get something going. ;) I'm going to be concentrating my time on my portal instead of WysGui for a while.

I have ideas for things on the wysgui site though. I need to make a section that let's users download modules to add onto their wysgui. Also, it needs a way for developers to send me modules. Then I can check them and release them on the page. Eventually I want an e-commerce type atmosphere where developers can buy/sell modules directly on WysGui.com.

As for right now, I'm finished with it for a while. Anything else I can think of atm belongs in a 3rd party package. I have a ton of work to do on other things, so WysGui is sort of on hold, but I'm very proud of it as I feel successful in making the most versatile CMS.

    Hoo-Ra!
