EchoWho - an advanced social network content management system...

    What is Echowho?
Echowho is a unique, simple and beautiful content management system, designed to be the next 'social network' ideal for socialising with friends, family and other companions. The beautiful design has been created, with the user in mind. Making it beneficial around every corner of the network. Echowho is responsive and reactive, making it fun to navigate around the site and explore the world of the network itself. We are motivated to work on Echowho and have been developing and planning it for months and plan to resume this until the very end.

    How is Echowho developed?
To develop Echowho we have used a variety of different languages for different sections of the network. The backend is coded in OOP PHP code. We chose PHP for the backend as our main expertise are in this language. We have great knowledge in PHP and can assure the best security techniques and complex safety procedures for the network. As we wanted the social network to be responsive, we had to use a jQuery. We feel and know from our research that jQuery is ideal for what we have/had got planned for us. This consists of fadeins, fadeouts, slide toggles and some timers also. Like most, the frontend is coded in HTML and CSS. We also have great knowledge of these languages therefore can produce an excellent and efficient outcome for the network.

    What about news and updates?
We have shared the development throughout forums, yet RaGEZONE is our main advertisement and development thread as this is the forums which I love the atmosphere the most in and where I've learnt so much in.

This looks really good, the only thing I don't like is the logo but I don't know why I don't like it.
Overall I think you should concentrate on completeing it.

Thanks, I forget to mention that though. That logo isn't the final design, We never got around to the branding. We are still not sure about the name 'EchoWho'.

Thanks for the comments. I would release a demo, but It's simple to rip our HTML progress so far so until we have got further into the backend I don't plan to do that.

I'm coding the HTML and CSS, Lucca is doing the backend not me.

seems like you guys know what you are doing.

Wish I could create a design as well as you did *sigh*.

    Keep up the good work.

yeah, that's just bad code, I can imagine the html to be just as bad, if you wanted to show off the design only, you should have done that in the design section

You don't sanitize anything (assuming $ticket is a variable provided by the user).
Look into using PDO or MySQLi.

The little bit of the web design we've seen is quite good. It looks like you've got a nice grasp on web 2.0 design. The biggest piece of constructive criticism I could give there is that the footer needs some more TLC.

I know you don't do the PHP code, but it's poor. As others have said, it doesn't look like the code is being secured at all from something called MySQL injection, wherein people abuse the text boxes that you have set up in order to mess with the database.

The mysql module that he is using is going to be deprecated very soon. He should instead use mysqli or pdo. This also allows him to use prepared statements, which, if used correctly, handle and secure you against all possible sql injections for you.

let's be honest, the design is nothing good either, it's in a little awkward aspect ratio, that bird on the background just doesn't make any sense, nor does the "tell your friends" text, share photos is for some reason position to the left and it looks out of the place, that header and "logo" is just bad, it simply doesn't fit the design, logo itself is too big, sign in button is again awkwardly positioned, it should have the right margin and logo have the left margin, same goes for footer.. there is so much wrong even on so few elements

I agree with you on many of your points. The aspect ratio is arguably awkward, but in my opinion, not to the point where it would be detrimental. I agree that the bird doesn't make any sense. The content of the text is not technically part of a UI design (though the placement is). That being said, I do agree that the content of the text is poor.

The logo is... very simple, which I don't really have any problems with. It can definitely be improved in oh so many ways; Hotcut stated that the logo was far from done, which is good to hear. I personally don't feel the logo is too large. The left-margin spacing of the text snippet below "Tell your friends..." is not an uncommon trait, nor is it poor design in my opinion. It works fine in the current design.

The sign in button works kinda bleh where it currently is, and it would look quite a bit better centered under the large text, or perhaps even right-aligned.

The footer is definitely poor right now.

There is a difference between not-an-uncommon trait and some fairly unexperienced designer randomly placing things..

The margin of the text below "Tell your friends" isn't a worry to me, though the Join Now button, Echowho logo, and "Tell your friends" text all being similarly but not perfectly left-aligned - that's definitely concerning, and would make me scared to look at the HTML. The alignment of the left/right footer section doesn't make sense either.
