    GameSite template by viroware

Hey, I thought I'd take the oppurtunity and fix viroware's template, because he can't code and I felt like doing him a favor.

    live demo @ http://faggot.foxx.f13.cz
    download @ http://faggot.foxx.f13.cz/virowarecantcode.rar

changed a one or two things here and there, some of the things I've changed

    • site's width to still rather standard 960px
    • width of those two main columns so it makes more sesnse
    • border-radius's according to how it's nested so it looks right
    • logo is a link to homepage
    • active menu item style
    • I've thrown a few css animations there
    • changed sites structure so it follows sematics
    • fixed line-height
    • used matrioshka rather than padding to elements with width to not fuck up box model
    • cropped logo, had unnecessary transparent borders
    • changed header bg's format to jpg to save few kbs
    • used h1 instead of h2, as it's pretty much the only heading on the site
    • change menu to be a list rather than divs
    • used css gradients rather than images, but maily because I was lazy to download and reupload his images
    • changed menu links so the those radius thing is a link

and few more things, don't really remember all, it could still be improved by defining basic styles for elements such as paragraph and anchor, but that would require a designer who thought it thru, and viro obviously didn't.

I hope I can take your critique and won't cry much. And I feel like writting this post took me longer than coding that site.. damn.

You are the one with the wrong attitude. His job is to create websites and I'm sure he makes good money doing it. Foxx took the time and decency to code your theme for you properly. A job that he more than likely would have made a few hundred dollars for.

Viroware, dude, the fact of the matter is that you couldn't take Foxx's criticism, when it was properly given. Foxx has been around coding and on this forum (especially the coding section) much much longer than you. He gave you criticism because your website and coding apparently sucked. He was professional and mature about it, you should have taken it and asked for opinions. Doing a half-assed jobs on websites won't get you anywhere far, like he said. And from your company name and bragadocious attitude, I'm assuming you want to go far.

But, instead, you chose to be childish and immature. You assumed and accused Foxx of being abused as a child. For what reason? Because he pointed out your code sucks. Now... how well do you think a company boss or supervisor would take that attitude? Not well. It's time to mature up, accept criticism when needed and given. If you're wrong, which you were, be a man and admit it.

I accept criticism, Just foxx went to fair to saying i cant code html or css just because i used div tags for the menu. Im not the one not being mature, What have i even done its just trolled with no reason, Starting fights so he must of been abused as a child to be fucked up. People aint fucked up for no reason.

How am i wrong? I know html and css? Savage ur mature, i speck to you. Send me a pdf or something tomorrow and i prove i can do html & css.

Also im not a "company" Im 15, intrested in tech and science and like web dev thats it.

Haha, you just don't know when to give up, I smell extremely strong case of puberty.

If you can code, explain me why your code sucks in the ways I pointed out here and here?

you see, difference between your code
[Invalid] Markup Validation of http://viroware.com/downloads/templates/002/ - W3C Markup Validator
    and my code
[Valid] Markup Validation of http://faggot.foxx.f13.cz/ - W3C Markup Validator

if you manage to make 12 errors(and shitload of other w3 validator doesn't recognize) in 20 lines of code, how else would you call your code than bad and sucky?

I don't judge by the code, I judge by the final output (what isnt that valid as like i said i cba with it because iv got no use for it). keep in mind im 15, I dont work for company's its only me that sees the code (apart from this once time because i posted it) so i never put effort into the code just as long as the design is going right for me.

I already admitted im not the best at html & css but whats so unbelievable about a 15 yr old knowing html & css, I see it a lot.

You learned to use them wrong, and you keep using them wrong, and when someone tells you why it's wrong, you rather than listen to him, chose to say his dad raped him lol.

I don't follow habits when it comes to web, I follow rules the people of W3 consortium set. That's why I code right, you code wrong and your code sucks.

Hell, you could even use divs for menu, for your own disadvantage, because web crawlers won't read it right, but there are other, worse mistakes, such as using multiple IDs. And the generally, the way you code is just bad, get it. Learn from what I'm saying.

You didn't admit shit, you repeatedly said you know html and css at 100% and kept arguing with me that your way is right.

As I said, pretty much every can do html, but hardly anyone can say he knows it 100%. You can't, until you know the rules and follow them.

That's the difference between a good coder and a bad one who doesn't know how to code and is just throwing tags and ids there as he wishes.

When a professional points out your mistake in your coding. You take it and run with it. Even to go as far and ask on how you can improve on it.

But being @ 15 it still seems you don't understand constructive criticism. Take your head out the clouds and listen for once.

Also, bad habits in early programming won't lead you down a professional highway.

Now stop your whining and take some notes for once.
