Made this from scratch, tested it with a Holux M-1000, but should work with any GPS receiver that goes over serial ports
NMEA devices only, never took the time to make it in binairy too.
Created in C# and used these website's as resources:

you should make one that reads off of cellphone towers!
cellphone towers arent that precisely since the cellphone tower fields only cover 5 x 5km area's in normal.

Updated the application, it now shows an error instead of crashing if the COM port doesnt exist. I also added miles per hour.
