    [HTML] My first HTML site

    Hello, I started this site yesterday. and I haven't got a chance to start the forums yet. I just want to know if it's good for a first site. (started learning HTML yesterday.)
    So here it is. I know its not a good hosting website. I'll find a better one soon(Hopefully!).
    http://maplefreaks.uuuq.com/index.html
    Please rate it out of 10. and tell me where i can improve. if you can, please tell me a good free hosting site.
    and im working on the round corners. don't know how! If you think you can help, send a PM.
    P.S If you notice how my buttons for "forums" tips" "home" and "useful links". Its on top of each other, how can i make it side by side?(in the middle)

    re: [HTML] My first HTML site

    It's better than my first site by a great deal. This is how you make rounded corners.

    Now, looking at your HTML

    PHP Code:
    <A HREF="http://maplefreaks.uuuq.com/index.html"><DIV ALIGN="center"><IMG SRC"Home.png" BORDER"1"></DIV></A><A HREF="http://maplefreaks.uuuq.com/Tips.html"><DIV ALIGN="center"><IMG SRC "Tips.png" BORDER"1"></DIV></A><DIV ALIGN="center"><A HREF="http://maplefreaks.uuuq.com/Useful_Links.html"><IMG SRC " Useful_Links.png" BORDER"1"></DIV></A><A HREF="http://maplefreaks.uuuq.com/Forums.html"><DIV ALIGN="center"><IMG SRC "Forums.png" BORDER"1"></DIV></A
    Your problem is the DIV's. You don't need to keep repeating <DIV ALIGN="CENTER">. You only need to call the DIV tag once.

    The fix is:

    PHP Code:
    <DIV ALIGN="center">
        <
    A HREF="http://maplefreaks.uuuq.com/index.html"><IMG SRC"Home.png" BORDER"1"></A>
        <
    A HREF="http://maplefreaks.uuuq.com/Tips.html"><IMG SRC "Tips.png" BORDER"1"></A>
        <
    A HREF="http://maplefreaks.uuuq.com/Useful_Links.html"><IMG SRC " Useful_Links.png" BORDER"1"></A>
        <
    A HREF="http://maplefreaks.uuuq.com/Forums.html"><IMG SRC "Forums.png" BORDER"1"></A>
    </
    DIV
    Remember to use indenting and spacing. It's alot easier to read above code than your original code.

    re: [HTML] My first HTML site

    Hi, looking at your source, it can use a few tips. Also, the ALIGN="CENTER" is depreciated, however still widely supported, I suggest using CSS, and indenting to make it readable:
    Code:
    <HTML>
    <HEAD>
    <TITLE>Bb521's somewhat Maplestory site.</TITLE>
    <script src="http://www.uuuq.com/fixstats.php"></script>
    <STYLE type="text/css">
    #main {
    	margin: 0 auto;
    	width: 100%;
    	text-align: center;
    }

    #welcome {
    	font-family: "Comic Sans MS";
    	margin: 0 auto;
    	width: 700px;
    }

    #menu {
    	margin: 0 auto;
    	width: 600px;
    }

    #centered {
    	margin: 0 auto;
    	width: 600px;
    }
    </STYLE>
    </HEAD>
    <BODY>
    	<DIV ID="main">
            <DIV ID="centered"><IMG SRC="456.png" BORDER="2"></DIV>
            <HR>
            <DIV ID="menu">
                <A HREF="http://maplefreaks.uuuq.com/index.html"><IMG SRC="Home.png" BORDER="1" /></A>
                <A HREF="http://maplefreaks.uuuq.com/Tips.html"><IMG SRC="Tips.png" BORDER="1" /></A>
                <A HREF="http://maplefreaks.uuuq.com/Useful_Links.html"><IMG SRC="Useful_Links.png" BORDER="1" /></A>
                <A HREF="http://maplefreaks.uuuq.com/Forums.html"><IMG SRC="Forums.png" BORDER="1" /></A>
            </DIV>
            <HR>
            <DIV ID="centered"><IMAGE SRC="Untitled.png" BORDER="1" /></DIV>
            <P ID="welcome">Yay! 20 more days until unban! Also, I'm getting better at HTML!<BR />
            So Keep waiting and the site will look better very soon! And school starts in 2 days !!<BR />
            Hope you guys had a good new year! :)</P>
        </DIV>
    </BODY>
    </HTML>

    They use Flash for it.
    But it's possible in CSS and/or JS too.
    Look at the Runescape.com website for an example. They use CSS only for their drop-downs.
