Re: MSM 10196 - Testing
Memory leak/improper data sending, causing the server to crash... fixing now...

Re: MSM 10196 - Testing
That games sick! Me and some choco dude were sittin there killing each-other! Keep up the good work! What's with the 'Timed Out' screen? How do I get back into play after I see that (is there a way without close/reopen?) It would be hard to make an AI wouldn't it? That would be cool to have if nobody was on..

Re: MSM 10196 - Testing
Ahh! I'm sorry about that Sp! the server has crashed multiple times as we played (I was online :P), and I had to restart it.
The server crash because of the following reason above, I'm fixing it now. :)
Thanks, I'll accept those as suggestions. I'll add them on the t'do list.
-Enable players to handle situation when timed-out/unable to connect.
-AI/Bots - will be implemented later on.

Re: MSM 10196 - Testing
Yes, I mentioned that yesterday.
An interface.
Lets face it, its not the neatest layout.
We need a chatbox, possibly an inventory?

Re: MSM 10196 - Testing
I fucking envy you for your awesome coding skills man :x
Coded in C++ I suppose?
Will you ever publish the source? I'd love to have it, just to study the code.
Also, you might want to add screenshots to your first post, just so people see what it is.

Re: MSM 10196 - Testing
i may give you the basis, with its basic framework. And then you can walk alone from that. this client, for msm, is coded in delphi. i'll have to create a client from c++ to pair for the c++ server... i don't know why. lol
i'll give you an update soon, it won't take much time.

it'd be helpful for indie game developers.

Just a basic structure is fine :)

Re: MSM 10196 - Testing
here's the basic framework: http://www.box.net/shared/3v6q8h2u0i
this is a simplification of accessing windows sockets. multiple protocols are supported, enabling you to make a wide variety of possibilites. supports: md5 encryption, tcp, udp, http, ftp.
simple guidance:
IP = "127.0.0.1";
PORT = 1337;
TCPConnection = tcpconnect(IP,PORT,1);
clearbuffer(0);
writebyte( AByte, 0);
sendmessage( TCPConnection, IP, PORT, 0);
i hope that'd help greatly.
p.s. credit is good.
