Try to stop server and run.bat (hive) and then join another server,or restart ur client
MikeJones says run.bat is used to jump pass the call back from Hive so it may cause conflict between ur client and external IP...dunno
He can confirm this or say what really happens...

I'm running the server on a separate machine, i was first able to join my own server. restarted the server a few times to see what the system did.
joined about 5 times. than i joined another server to see if i had gear on public hive. tried to join my own server again. and blackscreen, switched to windowed mode to see if that worked and the memory error popped up
restarted the hive(run.bat) and server but the same issue continues. so there is something wrong but i can't point my finger on what it is

That's a backup, always do, just in case if that does not go well, just forgot to remove
