sorry i was away for long so assuming you download my files and follow the video !!
lets check with you if the Vmware connected by using CMD
In you pc Start - Run - cmd
on cmd : ping 192.168.100.128
if no packets lost you good and connected
------
now lets check client side
In Client\userdata\server\serverlist.xml
check this line
<address name="VM" ip="192.168.100.128" port="9223"/>

The error may be because you have not finished running the Server. Or you put less RAM in the virtual machine
