A Handful of Problems (Running Daneos Files v0.60)
I'd like to start this off my saying Forgive me if these problems have been answered already. Now, I begin sharing my problems and progress thus far. I'm a quick learner, too, so any help would be appreciated.
Problems/Issues
1.) - Server /- I have been trying to test my server with someone else, seeing if I can even get one up and running. Said person lives in the same house as me. I have tried using my IP as well as the local 127.0.0.1 IP, too. I do plan to allow others that do not live with me play as well so the fix I would need should be something that allows that. I hate Hamachi so I'm hoping there are other free methods besides the "screw up your pc with hamachi" one. It would also be worth noting, I think, that when someone else tries logging into my server using the local IP provided above gives the other person -- not me -- the error "could not connect to AuthServer" while I... on the otherhand... can.
2.) - Character Select /- When selecting characters, the name of the characters are missing. I've had this problem from the very beginning before any other edits.
3.) - Quests Reward System /- I think I know the reason as to why this feature doesn't work. It's because Daneos never fixed this -- or added it? -- in the v0.60 files. It was something he was going to do in v0.70 but decided he was going private on us.
4.) - Character ID /- This is... another... issue. This issue that I haven't found a fix to yet is that I cannot become Character ID 1. If I edit the account Daneos had with my own information, the game crashes and thus I'm stuck on CharID 30 or 40 something.
5.) - GM Commands /- When I attempt to use the GM Commands, the GameServer crashes. I won't doubt I may be missing a critical detail about using them. I'm still learning. Everybody starts somewhere. xD
Progress
1.) - Translating /- I've completely figured out how to edit files and translate them to proper english, not simply a copy and paste directly from google translate which itself is not accurate. I used 3 translators to make out to the best of my ability of what the Korean text says and then, using proper and re-arranged English words, added it to the file. To Translate, Steps Taken in Order:
- Opened Packet Editor - Unpacked the Language Files only
- Opened Microsoft Visual Studio - Opened local_data.dat in Microsoft Visual Studio and made my edits
- Saved/Replaced File - Saved, replacing already existing local_data.dat.
- Back To Packet Editor (again) - Used Packet Editor again, clicking the Language Export and copying the lang0.pak file and placed inside Daneos Client's pack folder replacing the lang0 file already there. Just to be safe (a habit) I copied and replaced both lang files with the ones from the pack folder I had edited using packet editor.
I should also share that... whoever said that the lang files couldn't be bigger than the original lied or I'm just lucky. The original from Daneos' shared client is 831kb-ish and mine is 836kb. The client still starts perfectly.
2.) - Game Runs /- I'm able to play by myself, at least. Seems to be hard for some people to get the game running at all so might as well add this to my accomplishments, YAY. -_'-

Re: A Handful of Problems (Running Daneos Files v0.60)
hi, have you managed to change "127.0.0.1" with another address and operate the server? If so, how?
I did not manage with 0.60 daneos but it works very well on AKcore , just change the address before compile visual studio.
If you managed with "daneos 0.60" explains how. thank's

Re: A Handful of Problems (Running Daneos Files v0.60)
I have managed to change the IP with my IP, an IP from a program called "Evolve" and another IP of mine called IPv4. All of which allowed me to enter the game but no one else that tried to enter could do so. A problem I have yet to find a solution too.

Re: A Handful of Problems (Running Daneos Files v0.60)
Update~
I have now gotten the game to run for other people using an Evolve IP. I figured out that the Internet Box I was using didn't allow ports through it correctly and so, because I'm on a laptop, changed to the other box we have in the house using my wireless connection -- the main box. In doing so allowed the other person living with me to connect to my Evolve IP. I don't know if the new problem he is having now is related to the game or his computer itself, but his game freezes sometimes and he is forced to restart his whole computer because he is unable to close the game client.
Also, Mobs don't move whatsoever nor aggressively attack for those with red names. I get a hammer on my main account which I can only assume is banned related, sometimes. I need to log out to character select and back in until it vanishes. I also get a problem where the skills become blank and fixing it is the same fix I use to get rid of the ban-hammer.
I'm now just pointing out issues with Daneos files. I know they won't be fixed so mainly a heads up to anyone who attempts to try his files. Best bet would be to learn how to do this yourself and go from there or simply wait until DBOR finishes their server. It's unfortunate that I don't know how to do this stuff because sharing with others would be my goal if I did. :\

You lost me at "I've got to put the server in dedicated."
Does this have anything to do with this topic? I'm gotten my game running, played with someone for a bit before his client locked up and had to restart his pc. I'm not even thinking about a site with these unfinished and broken files. Lol.

Ah. Apologies then.
Also, to anyone who reads this topic, I don't mean for any of this to sound rude.
If you're thinking of making a Server with any DBO files right now and don't know much about C++ (or whatever else is needed), DON'T. You're not going to get very far... Unless running around by yourself is something you like to do. Also, I don't mean to vent so much xDD
Meanwhile, I'll be working on a Flyff server... until fully functioning DBO files are released. Flyff is easier to play around with...
No help can be gained here, it seems, so this topic can be closed at any time.
