    Thanks for your quick reply; I just downloaded your data.fdb and used it. Now the boss definitely spawned (although I'm not sure if I simply forgot to kill all the necessary mobs for it to spawn before... ). In any case, I guess moving forward using your data.fdb is better anyway, so thanks for that. :)

    I'm currently trying to create a view (or several ones rather) that does more or less the same as rom-welten database to make it quicker to find information (and make adaptions) directly in the database tables.

    Hello,

    thank you for this release it is great.
    I have a short question regarding the object editor.

    I followed the tutorial and set it up right.
    All Categorys are Loading and showing but there is one which let the whole tool crash. The Magic Object Table. I open it and within a second the tool crashes and closes.

    Do you have any suggestion for me? And is it working for you?

    Than I used the old DB Editor from this forum, but it doesnt let me edit the Spell Duration anymore.

    You mean Ghoul Duke ? He is definitely spawning, but you have to kill the four (not sure which mobs that are because i'm playing on german client) mobs four it. I guess its the necromages.

    If you kill these ghould duke is spawning, otherwise he isn't there.

    Nobody can test the Magic Object with the editor please?
    Or a solution for the crash when opening it?

    oh wow . . . i'm missing a few file due to extraction errors mostly coming from the resource\fdb folder model.fdb, motion.fdb, texture0 - 2 - 3 - 6 - 7 - 10 - 11 - 14 - 15.fdb are all the file missing, can i get these files from the client?. . .

    Try use 7Zip to extract or Winrar I have same files and nothing are missing in client go to resource and there is all. But you should know that already.

    Hey, I followed everything in the first video exactly. However, when I try to open the client, I get a message saying "Can't download ClientUpdate.zip". Does anyone know what to do about this?

    EDIT: Simple fix - In the shortcut properties, I accidentally put a space, so that it looked like NoCheck Version. Removing the space fixed the issue.

    You can also refer to my guide for info on how to install the OFA release. It'll be edited a bit soon anyway because I intend to remove the outdated 32bit instructions entirely, thus massively reducing the amount of text. The old version is outdated and contains the original problems from Runewaker, so there's no point in using it any longer with this new release being available.


    Quick note for those looking into a portable version: one option of doing this could be Portable Virtualbox. Apparently a solution for having VMs installed on USB drives. If this can be used as a simple extract & play solution, then a proper repack without changing any database is not far off. Would still be a big one unless someone compresses it in an installer but it would work.

    Hey everyone,
    me and my friends recently talked about getting back into RoM. However, going back to official servers is not really an option since the pay-to-play aspect is just not worth it. The next thought was checking for private servers or better yet hosting one on our own. Since we mainly want to check out the instances which came over the years, we decided that it would be best to make our own private server, in order to have control over how we progress through the game.

    This is what brought me to this forum. Some of my friends including myself are programmers, so even if the setup is not as straight forward as some Dedicated Servers provided by some games and their studios we should be able to figure things out given the right files and tutorials. Currently, the biggest problem we are having is even finding the source files required for the hosting process. If someone has the files and video tutorials mentioned in this thread, I would be happy if someone could message me with a download link or point me towards a place where I can find them.

    Also it is cool to see that people are still working on making private servers work and playing the game!

    Welcome Movinghead333. It took me a few tries to find the Videos and the Installer. The first video gives you all that you need to get the server running. I am an old ROM player from Govinda and running a server brought back some great memories. I had everything up and running in a morning including item shop. I turn on just the zones that i am using to save resources. If i can find dl links that are still working i will let you know.
