You are on your own for the client however. I still have it from when I downloaded it here in 2016 - if I can find a good uploading service, I might share it one day (9 gigs is pretty big though...)
Im actually having an issue getting this connected. Server is up, but cant connect from LAN. Have not tried to connect client localhost, as the server does not have a capable video card. This is a lan/network server for my wife and I. I assume this is due to switch/proxy doing their thing.
Getting OnConnectFailed errors. Connection issue?
ALL GOOD. server running, npc working, quest operating, and im a gm. still with the onconnectfailed messages though, is that an errror or just to be ignored?

Should just work fine as long as you edit all of the IPs in the global.ini's, and the runedev.ini in the Client folder.
Did your wife edit her IP in runedev.ini to match the host machine on the LAN?
Also, make sure the shortcut you made for the exe points in the right location.
Target: "C\:Runewaker\Client\Client.exe" NoCheckVersion
Open in: C\:Runewaker\Client\
BTW, I get that same code too. It doesn't seem to mean anything, my brother and I have been playing on LAN all yesterday.

Server up and running. About to load my second client to the server from lan. Thanks! I had some sort of config file error, I made new ones from scratch and over wrote the old ones and it worked. just had to tweak the ips to allow clients! Know of anywhere to get the source code anymore? all links here broke, I would like to see its bones lol

The server and client need to be the same version. I used 5.0 install files, patched to 6.xx and all is working fine. On my wifes machine, I was able to install 5.0 and then copy over my 6.xx without having to apply a single patch. both clients are working. saved a whole day of patching 2nd client.
Okeei i have only 2.0.0 and cant find a download for a other client version :/ then i patch it from 2.0.0 to 6.xx

I tried it again now this morning and I thought "fuck it let's try starting it as administrator"....This is GENUINELY the first time EVER that this solved the problem for me for anything!!!

Setting this up is always such a hassle! I didn't want to reinstall my Windows on my PC for 4 years because of this shit! It's SO complicated to set up this server and all the SQL stuff that I have no clue about!
I first downloaded SQL Management Studio, then I figured out that i need the SQL server separately, so i downloaded SQL Server 2008 express, then the service of the server didnt start. Then I added the SQL 2014 express, then i had SQL conflicts, then the uninstall didnt work, then i uninstalled 2008 because of the conflict, then it didnt work in RA Server Monitor (most things were yellow), then i delete every SQL and download 2012 express. RA Server Monitor works now, but cannot get the Databases to work because of a version mismatch. Then i download the 2014 Express again and have it as the only installed sql. And changed some shit around everywhere in the .ini's.
To be honest i dont even remember all the stuff i had to go through and change in order to get this to work. This was 2 days of non stop work right now again. I really hoped it would be more comprehensive this time, but here i am again not wanting to reinstall windows for the next 50 years because i wont be able to set this whole crap up again!
Anyways glad that it is working right now, but if someone could make a really into depth detail guide i think that would be REALLY appreciated by everyone here. Maybe also cover how to attach databases properly after reinstalling, cover the DB Editor and all it's versions (some things like editing item descriptions only work on older versions that i found on some russian shady site, which i am sure doesn't exist anymore by now), etcetcetc.
Maybe i will try to write my experiences down in a structured guide for others here aswell at some point. If anyone has trouble though setting this up then message me and i will try to help you out.
