Make sure the SQL server browser service is running. You might need to enable it in the SQL server configuration. Also make sure TCP/IP is enabled as well as VIA and Named Pipesyes I mean \SQLEXPRESS it wont connect T_T

What do you mean by,"set up a up to date" you mean you want a new client?or?
can't restore the databases cause you made backup of file with a higher sql server edition..
how to fix?
Get A higher SQL version?
Even still you should get no problems the DB does not dictate what version you have to use
it does, when i do the restore command query, it tell me it can't be restored due to different version used.
I can't change my sql server since i'm using plesk on my server, if i upgrade my sql server, plesk doesnt work anymore and my server gets shutdown.
i dont know how to fix
Get the correct SQL version. It tells you which one you need.

Use the DB files from there, I've used them on 3 different SQL versions and never had problems.
