So if we don't know the folder structure, and GSL won't load non-models/textures/sounds, then we don't have a way of changing file references to add new content.

You need to update the uptodateinfo.dat file if you modified any hfs file and a working hfssign not released yet to public

haha sorry forgot to say delete .comp it will give a warning but click ok and it will be heroes.db3 which you can use. However, if you want to turn it back to comp just add the .comp back on the file and teh file type would change back.
I wanted to try to see if I can repack the hfs that has the heroes_text_taiwan.txt (which I replace it with heroes_text_english.txt) and run the client.. but it throw out error probably because of the sign the hfs file uses.

can you show steps how to do it? cause I tried to replace the heroes.db3.comp with my heroes.db3 inside the .hfs file and I still get "file system error 36"
are you sure I don't need to sign it? maybe I'm doing it wrong, appreciate if you can help, thanks :)
or if you could upload your .hfs file so I can edit the heroes.db3 inside?

I got GSL to load the script player_costume and change "some stuff" but my GSL needs to be Injected with Perx. I'm using winnsi.dll that i downloaded from this Section does anyone know to "auto inject it" like change the name of the dll and the game will load it?
Oh and BTW with GSL working you don't need to repack an hfs file just drag the contents of it to scripts or sounds or models the DATA folder takes priority when loading the game
Hmm. I don't remember if he allowed special access to player_costume.txt only.
I'll have to test other scripts later.
Any idea where heroes.db3 is supposed to go in the folder structure?

Well, I tried replacing heroes.db3 with my edited heroescontent.db3, and I tried removing the enhance glow.
Neither seemed to do anything.
I was able to edit player_costume without any issues.
So I guess GSL is limited to player_costume, model, materials, and possibly sound.
heroescontent.db3 has 100 tables more than heroes.db3, you can't just replace it like that, plus, the client files has more data than the server one.
Yes, that's totally correct...anyone has a decent high speed connection and willing to host the server for some of us play together? Haha soloing kinda boring here.if you do have a server please leave the IPs here..I will play on and might have some friends join as well.
Its a bit "dangerous" to open a server and there is no proper files yet for 100% usage. Im working on server src, all exe and dll compile but still needs to understand many things
