I don't know what you have done during installation. I only downloaded the vm-image and the client. I have done everything step by step. I have made some updates of the guest-os. I haven't configured any configuration-files. I have started the xamp controlpanel. I have started the heroes operation tool, marked the server in workgroups and started the programs with F5. Some programs crashed, but you can start it twice for running. I have started the client with the batch-file.
Tada - game running.
I have a suggestion. Name the thread "Running Vindictus-Server without errors".

Tenoto, I didn't configured any ip-tables, but I have switched-off the firewall on local area network. Server-sided and Client-sided.

He just wants to put it online aka WAN. If you are having difficult just set it up on your PC. Vindictus server files is the easiest and does not required more than 10 minutes.

Okay, so... I would like to ask a little help.
I would like to use this in a vpn. I DID EVERY single tutorial regarding the online setup and i am doing this for about a week but no success. I am NOT using this vmware image with 192.168.0.200 since i had to change it according to my lan/vpn. I gave this vm an ip, 192.168.1.48, however, my vpn has 192.168.2.x pool. now. I have the new channel error, and the people connecting outside from my network cannot join a channel nor make even a single quest. not room making, ect...) I DID THE TUTORIALS IN THE HELP AND TUTORIAL SECTIONS! I write here becouse i am working with this relase in vmware concept.
What i did sofar:
- Port forwarding and ccproxy are not requied for me; since it is not on public, on vpn all port is open by default.(BTW before that i did tried the proxy method too, it failed too)
- Edited the sql server for every tcp adress to 192.168.2.2(it is the vmware image vpn ip)
- Edited the server all required config files according to my vpn
- Added all hosts file entry according to my vpn

- It is working perfectly on LAN i mean physical lan. but if someone tries connecting from the vpn who is not in my physical lan(eg. remote connection) no boat, channel.

When i am hosting, my client directly connects to physical IP... no matter what. it makes room for 192.168.1.48(it is the channel making part)... now this is bad, becouse it should be on 192.168.2.x (in my vpn concept) no there is no reference 192.168.1.48 string anywhere in server/client/web nothing. i did tired changing the adapter metrics, also tried forcebindip in my lan, the result was new channel error(without forcebind it is working on lan)
Any ideas? MY guess the error is in the client side somehow... in the server side; i did everything what was written down in tutorials in other sections...
i did triple and quad checked everything but it is now working from remote locations... i even tried to migrate from the virtual machine but it was not working in an other machine good.. (especially pvp part from heroes launcher)

This is exactly the problem I'm experiencing. All the ports are set, the ip addresses too (for LAN play) and I've even made sure the host is able to connect to 127.0.0.1/endpoint.txt
I'm starting to think it's something to do with the way we setup the client.
I'll post any progress I make here with this problem.

After reinstalling the 1.69 client, the issue still persists.
It's very unusual because there is a significant 'hang' after you click start like the client is doing something.
if you attempt to enter any details in and hit login, you trigger a second 'hang'
Very frustrating. I have attempted to disable the firewall but it makes no difference.
Why would the host machine be able to connect to the webserver through a browser, but not through the client?
The problem is in C: \ Server \ zh-tw-x-gm \ Bin heroesContents and in the client aql heroes has the ip of 192.168.0.200 you have to change it and put your local but when I edit it with SQLITE it does not open I think that's it.Quote:

But i dont know how to connect my vindictus eu modded client to the local VM server on the same machine. VMware IP's and networking i dont understand, bridged, NAT its confusing, i read the documentation but still dont understand what i have to set in VM and how to make the client see the local server, maybe its something in the hosts file? if so what do i have to write in there?
Also i have edited SQL databse before but from inside SQL management studio, i dont understand how to edit heroes3.db of client and the .db on server VM.
If someone can make a noobs guide im pretty lost tbh.

Problem solved. Wrong way. You have to go to the other side of the cave and you have to push one of the rock on the tree trunks until they break.

Getting a bit of an issue even launching the Vindictus client...
What I did first with the VM was to change the IP to 192.168.1.100 in Local Area Connection. Gateway is also configured properly.
Then in CCProxy I set the Web Filter to 192.168.1.100 as well.
I then pinged within the VM to see if it detects my main PC and it does.
Then after that, I then replaced all the entries 192.168.0.200 in 'heroesContents.db3' and the three 'EndPoint.txt' documents to point to 192.168.1.100
Installed the EU 1.69 Vindictus, removed the UpToDateInfo.dat file, and kept only the 6 video files in media folder that end with 'ending.avi', and changed the hfs file type to .hfsbak
Then had 'heroes.db3' and 'nmconew.ini' point to 192.168.1.100
I start Vindictus with 'start.bat' and it gives me an SQL error and won't launch
Anyone got any ideas?
Edit: It is multiple error popups
1st popup is empty, no text
2nd says 'database disk image is malformed
3rd says 'Null Virtual Machine pointer'
4th is in ??? ??? ??? ??? text

Opened your VM in Virtualbox, gave it 16 gig ram (have 64 so i dont care :D: ). All seems to work fine, just the IP is 119 not 200 at end.
Changed it back to 200.
Tried a test connection to CCProxy with SocksCap64 which failed.
Ping works fine, browser says a nice "hello".
Then i started all services, which seems to run smooth. Did everything your tutorial said to the client and linked the exe with SocksCap, also gave it the start arguments.
But i cant connect. There is no way to get it working.
The VM cant use the host for internet, also itself cant be seen in the network. Even the router cant see it.
So there is anything messed up with the whole networking inside the VM. Can you explain a bit further, what you did to that poor (virtual) machine ? :D:

Man I am so happy for this, I followed instructions and got this up and running.
People complaining about experience are right, and it's a problem, you don't get any experience for any quest until you hit level 10. You get xp for turning them in, but if you go back and re-run a mission to level you get 0 experience. This is a big problem because you can get stuck and it's impossible to level up. I had to send myself items to complete quests that I couldn't yet complete. You can also edit the quest rewards for turning in quests and up them by 5x.
My question is where is there a guide on how to run a vindi private server. THe cash shop doesn't work, and I cannot for the life of me find things in the db3 file like permanent storage upgrade coupons. I can find shared storage but not the indivdiual characters storage upgrade.
Also how do I run special events. I'm assuming I change the server date to the date the event ran but the list of events on the Vindictus website only goes back so far, is there an easy way to tell when each event is supposed to run and is that how I do it? Change server date/time?
Now I have to get that HFS decryter thing so I can decrypt files and further search for these cash shop Items I can't locate in the db3 file probably because of bad naming by nexon.

Hmm, sounds like the batch file cannot find the vindictus.exe file, either something is blocking the batch file like an antivirus from accessing other files, or you have read/write permissions issues in the folder. Most of the time if you have the game installed in your Documents/Desktop/Download folder you will have that issue.
Additionally try exploring DEP (data execution prevention) feature in windows
Starting a batch file with admin rights will run it from system32, vindictus.exe is not in system32.Quote:

Tell me why other users cannot be connect to channel and don't work board mission? I was change table FeatureMatrix in heroes.db3 and heroesContents.db3 (old values LAN IP was change to WAN IP)
Also in nmconew.ini was be change value ServerIP to WAN IPAfter, i was send them this files. They are success connect to server and were able to create character.
All ports was opens(which used in the guide)
