Leave VMware running, change the IP in EndPoint.txt (C:\xampp\htdocs\EndPoint.txt) to your IPv4 address for the VM, change RCCconfig and use 127.0.0.1 as the IP. Open up your heroes.db3 and change the EndPoint in FeatureMatrix to http://<YOUR VM's IPv4 address>/EndPoint.txt. Start everything up with heroes operation tool and you should be good to go.

I can't seem to locate heroes.db3, I even ran a search on both my physical harddrive and on the vm harddrive. I must be missing it somewhere

Right right, but where do I place the file in my client folder? Do I need to replace it in the HFS?

Am I understanding correctly that it goes in that folder because it's being handled like a source engine modification, in the same way that you'd put a "model" and "texture" folder in en-EU?

Its an engine.dll modification. Without it, it would look in the sqlite folder which can be found in the hfs (286FE9924483F382029EF68BA6C260B3C2563BF9.hfs)

How does local service assume service on the server, and what configuration needs to be done? Wan access.
