Just use RealVNC or remote desktop for windows to give access to everything.

Re: About Remote Control the MSSQL and Centos

No pictures will help. Everybody has a different network setup and in a lot of cases different logins so whatever we post won't work for 99% of other people.

For example, i run the GM tools directly from the database server and use 127.0.0.1 as the IP. I use my "sa" login and password. Many people want to run the tools remotely so that IP is wrong for them and using the "sa" login will only work if you enabled mixed mode authentication in mssql instead of setting up a cabal user.

If you want staff to be able to use GM tools, winscp and putty then it gets even more complicated as you then have to deal with external ip addresses, ports need forwarding in routers and if you aren't happy giving the staff total access to everything you also have to set up new users and passwords.

Now try fitting all of that into the 10 picture limit on posts. Not even close to possible :P

A video would have the same problem. The networking side of things is something that can't really be taught as you have to know your own network well to host services like cabal. People have exactly the same problem setting up the server as they have no networking knowledge or any idea how their network is set up.

90% of people here have zero mssql knowledge which is why i wrote the tools in the first place, it's just easier than trying to teach SQL to people. Even i still use the tools for some things even though i have pretty good MSSQL knowledge as i find it quicker sometimes.
