    Cabal is a linux server?

So i was lookign for a new game to dev... and cabal cought my eye.

Looked at guides and such to get basic overview... until... the virtualization with linux.

So i assume all the server files for cabal are for linux servers?

That kind of sucks - VM is very poor at performance and a dedicated linux box wouldnt work - you need sql server.

VM works fine for what CABAL needs.

It wont get into performance problemsi f population should go into 300+ for example (does cabal even have that large fanbase in private sector).

Performance aside - how "easy" it is to actually add stuff, models, edit quests, stats etc?
Coming from RF Online... which was heavy hex editing, reverse engineering and cryptic editign for basic stuff... how does cabal compare to it?
Available toolset or simple to read scripts?

Also is the server leaked real fiels or compiled off leaked source.. or rather a kind of custom made emulation?
And how encrypted the client would be?

It won't get into performance problems, ever.

It's easy to add stuff if you just read every one of the tutorials in the section. There are plenty of tools to edit most of the file types in the client, just look in release section, most of them need 010 editor with a template.

These are retail server files. The client data has it's own encryption system based on xor keys, move/change/edit that and pack your client properly and you're good to go.

So no annoying trouble with encrypted files that would need soem invasive decrypting programs before you can edit them.

And 010 is fine - in fact.. if actually decide t olook at cabal... might move some of the 010 scripts over to structorian - its better for some jobs.

Also hows the overall population on cabal private servers - since it has F2P retail.

Wouldnt want to bother with it if i cant expect more then 100 players (lets say server is interesting and ok).
